Get a free plugin when you purchase a Quad Cortex until the end of the year!

I know everyone can get any plugin they want but it is about the free plugin here, something to reward the newer users when early users have nothing (yet).

The “you will have someting too at some point” is just for lowering the bitterness of some older users imho. Mark my word, we will have nothing just for us (older users), some people doesn’t care and other are bitter about that (i am).

Man I don’t get this way of thinking at all. You see the incentive the NDSP sales department put together to help boost sales as a “reward for new users”. It’s just a sale. Just like every other sale you’ve ever seen in your life. Do you get “bitter” about those too and think you are deserved something?

If you bought your QC early enough in the US it was about $200 less than it was priced some time later. I know that price has come down again but if you’d bought your QC at the earlier, lower proce did you think NDSP had “rewarded” you when the price went up?

Well i understand what you mean, sadly no i was not early enough to have the 200 less so i bought it at the highest price and with no plugin.

I understand also the boost sale policy, in fact , like with phone company, the loyalty and seniority is rarely rewarded, i get it but don’t like it.

All that said, I (and probably others) thought it would be way nicer to give every QC users a plug in, they have already a lots of and will be probably way more in the future so i don’t think they would lose a lot (could be also a win for non plugin people to discover it and then…) Some of us (including me) think
that we are not there with the QC promises and this kind of the little thing that make the bitterness grow and imo was very not necessary.

Will the email come from support@neuraldsp.com? I bought a 2nd QC during the promo period and submitted the form a couple of days ago.

Yes, once you are registered and fill out the form etc.

Did anyone actually got the free plugin or should I start to worry? I got the QC from thoman end of Nov. Didn’t gen an email after registering on the QC, so filled out a form and no response for a month yet.

I would reach out to support again as it usually takes about 10 days or so to complete.

same with me, I bought from thomann in november and despite the report form I haven’t received an answer yet.

I understand that it’s black friday and christmas season hence the delay, at least I hope so, but a confirmation that they have the request would be nice.

I reached out to support and see what they’ll say. Thanks.

edit:
I got a response, and I can see my free plugin now. Must have been something that my accound didn’t register on the QC correctly. I did only have 1h time to check it out so far over that last month :frowning: !

try to login in and out of the quadcortex, and check the “Gift” icon when you login to the website.

Agreed. I get the promo, but how hard is it to reward everyone who has bought it already with a plugin.

Did you just ask how hard it is to give things away for free? I take it you’ve never owned a business before.

Realistically what they sell is a product with infinite stock. I’m not saying they need to give everyone a free plugin, but just realistically it doesn’t cost them anything if they were to give a plugin away.

Who says they won’t?

The text specifically said “…when plugins are available on the QC…”.

Just gotta be patient. :man_shrugging:

That couldn’t be farther from the truth. Every product they give away is lost revenue since the plugins are a one time sell with free updates. Add to that the expense of supporting that end user, and updating the plugin. And don’t forget these plugins are software protected with iLok which I’m sure charges them for every use. And those are just the expenses that come top of mind.

Equating endorsement giveaways to this is spurious. Endorsements are promotions to help build sales. They aren’t given endorsement product away for free. There is literally an endorsement deal struck to achieve a return (exposure, marketing, and sales usually) on their investment of provided equipment.

For the plug-ins when I say “free” I mean relatively compared to any other sort of good they would have to manufacture physically.

Given the amount of plugins they probably sell, a few thousand copies of one amp sim is basically free compared to say Marshall giving away the same amount of physical amps they had to manufacture.

Right :expressionless::expressionless::expressionless::expressionless::expressionless::expressionless::expressionless::expressionless::expressionless:

You are so full of bs. Once the software is developed, it’s developed and all those expenses are sunk and aren’t variable. There is very little if any added expenditure per user which buys the plugin, save maybe iLOK. And assuming it works properly, there is literally minor per consumer customer service issues, especially on plugins because they can update them. You can equate all of it to a cost per customer which decreases over time because the vast majority of the costs are fixed as all the R&D and marketing is sunk. But apparently you need to own a business to know this…. :joy:. And why is it that you think you know their business model so well anyway? Do you work for them or know their marketing strategy?

I am not a tax expert, nor do I know how Finnish tax laws operate. In the U.S. though, giveaways can be written off and provide some tax relief at the end of a fiscal year.

They foster good will and can acquaint users with a product encouraging additional purchases. They are often considered to be an effective method of advertising and gaining sales momentum. Everybody wins.

Either way, they are not losing revenue when those users wouldn’t have bought the plugin without it being give to them. The opportunity cost is zero.
