was gonna complain that there was nothing for those that purchased before august but it´s awesome to see there will be a surprise, very pleased with how ndsp has been more caring on customer satisfaction and not leaving old or new users out of the picture :slight_smile:

i see a couple of possibilities… either the surprise is for old users to compensate and might be something better or the surprise is for EVERYONE where they are gonna give plugins with the release of compatibility and basically new users would get twice the plugins while old ones only get one… which would suck considering we´ve been waiting and some have defended NDSP with their teeth and nails but it´s too soon to tell… at least they are aware to compensate and will give something.

Hopefully they reward their older loyal customers with equivalent or better than the newer customers who paid less. But can’t help but to be concerned with the way this message is worded. Guess I’ll stay tuned before I get upset.

Fully agree … since plugins do not have any parts or labour cost (means Neural DSP does not loose any money when giving every original purchaser of a Quad Cortex one or two plugins) older purchasers should get at least one free plugin too. Especially since they have paid more, needed to wait for a long time and multiple updates to receive some of the promised features, were exposed to the WifI security issue etc.
No equal or better compensation than for new customers would be a slap in the face of loyal and patient customers. So let’s hope for a positive surprise - which I am not too optimistic about when reading the mail.

In my humble opinion, it’s incredibly hard to be fair to everybody here.

Giving away a free plugin for new buyers is maybe to boost sales or to promote the soon-coming plugin integration. Which really will be a unique selling point for the QC.
So, why not? Nice for new members of our club.

To give a plugin to those who bought just before the MSRP reduction is also a nice gesture to people who might otherwise be a bit disappointed for spending more money than necessary.

I also understand that some of the old users want to have the same for their loyalty and patience. But then everybody would get a free plugin, which is also a bit strange.

Long story short: Difficult to find a fair solution unless you give everything to everybody. :slight_smile:
I will be happy if I get something but will not be too envious if only newer users do.

I agree with all comments on this announcement. Older users paid more money, have been patient whilst COROS has improved, and have also stuck with the unit in the face of many negative periods.
Oddly enough the idea of a free plugin was one which I thought would be a great piece of PR and appreciation for older users who had demonstrated loyalty and belief in the unit and company. Particularly in the light of the recent MSRP reduction.
I do hope that the ‘special gift’ is at least comparable to what has been offered to newer purchasers of the QC; It wouldn’t be a good idea to do otherwise as this promotion brings in an element of divisiveness.
Saying all that I agree that it is a tricky balance for Neural to get correct. Though one that is doable.
Neural has done a great job in improving the QC and COROS with nearly all in line with so many of the issues, and improvements asked for. And, things have dramatically improved over the last few months. Still waiting for models of a JMP50, Freqout and Solodallas Storm though! :wink:

Don’t get that point, giving ervery user a free plugin is very easy and even if we paid more and support this product for a longer time, i don’t see any people being upset in this case.

I also think rewarding older users with more than 1 plugin wouldn’t make new users won’t be upset.

No point in jumping to conclusions IMO with insufficient information to go on. Let’s just see how things play out. Could be that everyone wins. Looks that way to me.

Well there are conclusions (imo) that we can already have, like the fact that we won’t have 1 (or more) plugin, or it doesn’t make any sens to have to wait an unknown amount of time to finally have one or more unless the point is to upset older owner (I don’t think so)

The fact that we have to wait for the plugin compatibility (very vague, when one plugin is compatible, all of it ?) for the “surprise” makes me think (strongly) that we will have 1 (or a part) plugin but only in the QC form and with that, i would be very disapointed.

Of course i could be wrong but i think i’m close to what it will be, hope to be wrong…

Not gonna lie, as an “early adopter”, that has owned the QC since September 2021 and pushed through all the issues with it, this feels like a hard slap in the face.

We paid more for the QC, were and still are patient with NDSP, even with all the issues (WiFi security) and features promised features that came way later than initially advertised.
And now new users, that pay less and get a much more complete unit, get rewarded before all the long time users?

Really curious what this “surprise gift” might be, since it is tied to plugin compatibility I guess it is something line Plini X for free and maybe an additional new plugin, that has been ported to be compatibal with the QC…

How do you know the surprise won’t be two plugins? It probably is something to that effect and currently they don’t have two plugins yet in the “X” plugin range.

Yeah, what I got from that email is that early adopters will get something better “special” when plug in compatability is ready ; im guessing a pack of 2 or 3 plugins? (Plini X + Rabea X)

I’ve had my QC since January of this year, so feel like i was a bit late to the party, but would still suck not to atleast get 1 free plug in (also for me, a free plug in would get me to try it out, as currently I dont really see thr point of plug ins if you already have a QC)

This announcement right here really shows the problem that NDSP is often running into: COMMUNICATION.
One can only speculate at this moment what early customers will receive and I am not gonna to. But the fact that this thread is already filled with (imo rightfully so) frustrated comments just feels so unnecessary.
Why tell one group (new customers) what they will receive exactly, while the other group (long time customers) won’t get the same but „a surprise“.
I really don’t get it.
