Those expenses need paying off though, otherwise you have no company and no business.
The longevity of any business requires recurring revenue. Without it, it’s just a lot of debt.

It was uncalled for to say it sounded like he never owned a business before? Really?
Well okay then. I’m apparently uncalled for LOL.
I’ve purchased a plugin since purchasing my QC.
But when the giveaway is to their existing customer base, do those same benefits hold true? I’ve said multiple times I agree they are an effective sales tool, but that’s typically about growing your customer base.
I think at least some of those benefits still hold true. I get your point about an “existing base” but Neural also has a potential additional customer base comprised of some subset of those who purchased the QC. Some of them may never purchase a plugin but the rest will purchase varying numbers of them to take advantage of ‘X’-updates.
The giveaway may generate interest in further ‘X’-update purchases, get customers comfortable with their usage, and generate interest and discussion online about the new blocks. Some QC owners will feel compelled to collect the whole set . Other users may use the DAW plugin version of the ‘X’-update and decide they also want to add a few Neural plugins for their studio, providing a cross-product incentive.
There appear to be several legitimate rationales for a giveaway. They also generate good will among users who waited a long time for promised features to appear. That can be reflected on the internet and help drive QC and plugin sales. There may be more mutual benefits to be derived from a giveaway for both Neural and their customers than are immediately apparent.
This !! It is exactly what i think about this from the begining, more wins and good mood about QC (even it is not there yet).
Totally agree that some hardware guys can be finally pleased with a plugin and become future plugin purshasers. Could be wrong but i think they are potentialy more than the fan boys who bought every thing from ndsp and make a free plugin a loss.

100%
many businesses use this false logic about revenue loss to make outrageous loss claims over piracy, when the VAST MAJORITY of pirate users were NEVER GOING TO BUY IT ANYWAY
I’ve bought a QC on 18/12/2023 and I didnt get the plugin
I’ve compiled the form included in the post in case you didnt get the plugin and I still didnt receive it
I’ll try to compile the form again but I’ve bought it brand new from thomann but I didnt get the promo
idk why
I bought mine on December as well. I filled the form and no plugin for weeks. I contacted support and they solve it SAME DAY. I had the plugin in my account that same day.
thank you for the advice
Giving a product away, which is basically selling at $0.00 is not technically a “write-off”. The company doesn’t record the income but still deducts any expenses incurred. In this case, there are virtually no fulfillment costs, as the software SHOULD handle all fulfillment automatically. If it’s a manual process, then the payroll costs for the employee processing the request and overhead would be deducted, but if they weren’t doing this they’d be doing something else, which is apparently what’s happening since it’s taking WEEKS to get our promo code.
THAT being said, I bought a 2nd QC on 12.31.23, I filled out the form and have heard nothing. I’m getting pissed because I’m now having to put further time/effort into a promo item that I should have received immediately after providing proof of purchase, which is registering the product. If I HAVE the QC and it’s a previously unregistered item that should have verified the purchase. Then all that needs to be verified is the date of purchase. If nothing else Sweetwater is the SOLE U.S. distributor and they should have been given the ability to fulfill for NDSP. Everyone is probably now at NAMM and I suspect I won’t get a response if I email, but I’m going to try.
I’m not one that whined about NDSP not fulfilling promises, like the desktop editor and the plug-in compatibility, but it’s NOT cool to offer a promo to entice someone to spend money and then ghost them for weeks. This is something that has been paid for…not a promise of a free feature upgrade. How long does it take an employee to verify that a unit has been registered and match that up to proof of purchase? 2 minutes? ONE employee should be able to verify 200 per day. IMO, they just aren’t doing it.
According to NDSP it takes roughly 10 days to verify the purchase and then provide the promo plug-in. Sweetwater is the only US vendor but there are multiple vendors globally. I have also heard that some vendors are taking more time to help verify purchases etc. I would email support@neuraldsp.com and follow up to make sure they received your registration via their form.
Thank you. I sent an email to support after my post above. They said 10 days and it’s been 21, so I’ve been uncharacteristically patient. Has anyone actually received a response in 10 days?
I sent my request in with all supporting documentation/evidence. I have heard nothing back.
is there any word on what the folks like myself who already bought one before august or whatever are getting for a “surprise” yet?
They will announce this when plugin compatibility is ready.
thanks, I forgot
Yes, when you see all the plugins that are launched and all already existing, it could/should take years.
I still think it’s just an announce for people, who feel bitter (like me and others), don’t say much, wait and eventually forget at some point.
No, they explicitly said that when PCOM ships in CoreOS, they will have more details for us re: the freebie for early adopters.
