How do I back up my Quad Cortex?

Hi, I’ve just bought a Quad Cortex and I don’t know whether the factory presets have been changed. I guess reinstalling the factory presets is a good idea? I’ve also read that backing up the Quad is a good idea first but how do I do that?

There’s plenty of YouTube videos for new owners. I recommend watching a few.

Backups are done via settings menu accessed when you click on the three dots on upper right

Thank you Gianni, much appreciated. Getting a new Quad Cortex is very daunting and I’m a bit afraid of doing irreparable damage but I will do as you recommend and watch a few YouTube vids. Thanks again. S

Hi @Seanoco, I’m trying to understand your concern. Are you trying to keep the factory presets as they are? Are you making your own custom presets?

Backing up the Quad Cortex is recommended for anyone wanting to keep their customized presets, especially before updating the firmware to a new version whenever it becomes available. But if your QC is brand new, you probably don’t need to worry about that–yet.

Hi Gianni. My Quad Cortex is secondhand and I plugged it in for the first time this morning. I couldn’t tell whether the presets in there were the factory ones or not so I’d rather start with a clean slate, if that makes sense. I have read that this will also lose any IRs downloaded in there but I’m sure I’ll download my own in time. Does that all seem sensible?

That makes much more sense. Since you purchased yours secondhand, all of the custom presets, captures, and IRs loaded into the unit are tied to someone else’s account.

I would recommend doing a full system restore–this will erase any custom items–then signing in with your NDSP account. From there, you can add your own IRs and create your own captures. Factory presets will be there.

Thanks again for your help!

I don’t have it in front of me but go to settings and it’ll tell you what steps to take.

Cheers Jack, I managed it. Thanks everyone for your support.
