Don’t get me wrong, I have loved my QC however I find that having to stack reverbs to get some basic lush sounds to be annoying. I have my big sky and timeline in the fix loop in stereo because the QCs delays and reverbs are lacking. Effects just doesn’t seem strong enough. Repeats fade very quickly and the tape and analog just don’t have the grit that the originals they’re modeled after have. Delay repeats are far too quiet and fade way too quick. With my timeline and big sky I choose 1 effect from each and they do a great job with some tweaking, I don’t have to stack my verbs to get a nice wash. Plz plz rework the verbs and delays and have them work like the strymons and boss delays (dd500).
Great product but the delays and reverbs are leaving alot to be desired. Thx
I don’t understand why the QC’s reverbs and delays get such bad press. I come from a decades-long career in audio, including freelance live mixing and operating a small recording studio for over 30 years. I’ve heard a lot of different hardware devices and DAW plugins incorporating reverb and delay effects, including well-loved algorithms created by Lexicon, Yamaha and Roland. I think the R and D effects in the QC are some of the best I’ve heard. The reverbs are lush, musical and do a great job of simulating acoustic spaces without turning the dry signal into mush. The delays sound great too. I am a bit confused by the mix and feedback controls as the values don’t really represent what you hear but it’s very easy to work around this issue. If the delay level doesn’t sound equal to the dry level, turn the mix control up until it does. As the old saying goes, mix with your ears, not your eyes. I understand that the QC doesn’t include some of the modern, artificial and lo-fi R and D effects that have been created by Strymon and others but many can be recreated by combining Reverb, delay and harmonizer or transpose blocks. I think that a rework of parameter controls and adding simulations of some modern effects might quash the concerns of many QC effects haters. Just my opinion.
Same here. I’ve also A/Bed the delays against my Eventide TimeFactor and Boss DD-500 (my favorite delay ever is the SDD-3000) and ended up selling the Boss, as I didn’t feel it does much the QC doesn’t (and what it does is mostly because of the controllable, assignable LFOs).
Especially now with the Circular Delay algo, sounds killer.
But then again, I’m not a big fan of the Strymon schtick either, never heard any box of theirs that I felt sounded better than (or even equal to) the TF or DD for what I use. YMMV obviously, but the whole “delays on the QC are bad” thing is ridiculous in my opinion.
The reverb and delay could use some work. They’re decent, but mainly end up using them because it’s more convenient.
I think part of the issue is they messed up the mix percentage of the Wet/Dry so 50% isn’t actually 50%. They haven’t ever officially stated why, or acknowledged it as far as I know. Kinda bone headed move on their part, especially with how well thought out they’ve had other elements. Kinda whack to guess what 50% wet/dry is. I know people will say just to listen, but Neural could also just make the controls function correctly. The controls should be easy and quick to use, not a guessing game
Can’t say I’ve noticed any issues with reverb and delays…except a better spring verb would be nice… I’m usauly well below the halfway mark on volumes or mix… I’ve always thought about delay and verb as turn up to taste type of thing…

Coming from a Kemper and Axe-FX, the first thing I noticed was the verbs and delays didn’t sound as rich or deep or complex - however you want to put it. I think they are just adequate but I’d love to see the smear parameter that Kemper has on its delays-very useful. And also another rich pad-like verb. Neural needs an update like Kemper had when they updated their verbs a few years ago IMO.
I remember this update, it was a huge leap forward kind of which i would like to see happen with the Quad.
Reverbs and delays on QC are not bad at all but if you come from fractal or kemper (especially the old and powerless kemper) you notice that the QC has to improve in those areas.
In a studio situation i find the QC quite good!
Only live i have some trouble getting the right amount delay (settings), for not getting a too washed out 80s sound or noticable repeats for solos and rythm
Had the QC but I felt the same way. Now I am on Fm9, and all the wet effects are just better in many different ways. Also one of the other reason I sold it is due to very long waiting time to get a decent update. Lately the updates were focused on Plugins…if you don’t buy the plugin then there is not too much for you. Even with the plugins the wet effects seem the same.
I totally agree with the plug-in centered updates. My biggest issue is trying to get Delays and Reverbs to sound fuller, and the idea of stacking delays just buggers me off. I’ve been trying to get them sounding the way I like and still find that I keep using my Strymon stuff to compensate
