CorOS 2.1 in beta. Editor and plugs to follow

For any of you who haven’t heard, NDSP sent out the following update

"We are happy to report that CorOS 2.1.0 was released to beta testers yesterday evening. We expect to release it to the public in the coming weeks. This allows our team to finalize everything required for the open beta of Cortex Control.

Cortex Control is in a very good state. We will be able to share the release date of the public beta before the end of August.

Plugin compatibility is also progressing well. We will be releasing compatible plugins in batches, and the first batch of plugins will be announced later this year."

I seen the update earlier. It is always good to see signs of progress. Now this means it will be Beta released to people that are Beta Testers… so I am wondering how many months it will be before we get it? Is it safe to say probably by Christmas? It is not like it doesn’t already work well, but I guess my hope is that along with the Cortex Control we get a few added goodies with the 2.1. What kind of goodies? I don’t know, but I want some! I hope they surprise me!

Hard to say how long, I guess it’ll depend on what the beta folks stir up. I’d hope they’ll have their 1s dotted and their 0s crossed and be ready for release in a few weeks. Considering their historically slow development pace. I’ll continue to breath until then. Just glad to see movement.

1s dotted and their 0s crossed?. Usually we dot the ‘i’s’ and cross the ‘t’s’
Beta testers have specific things to validate and test against but there is always movement and I agree 100% and hope for a quick turnaround.

The editor will take however long is required to eliminate any showstopping bugs. I will admit that I sincerely hope we are not waiting until anywhere near Christmas for it. Let’s get it out there as soon as possible. I can tolerate a few bugs or even editor crashes as long as it isn’t corrupting presets.

Really hope they are still working on a better solution for hybrid mode too as well. With an eye ultimately towards adding much more flexibility to footswitch assignments. This is key functionality for live performance. Still feel like you almost have to have an additional MIDI controller for live use with the QC, although I know many users are making it work without it. Not a fan of the current hybrid implementation, especially the way once you set it up hybrid stomps and scenes, there is no single-switch method to quickly jump to an all-stomp view, and then back again. This can’t get addressed soon enough in my list of priorities.

Overall, though, some great news! Keep it going Neural. Full speed ahead. In for a penny, in for a pound.

And that describes the sum of my coding knowledge.

I forget where I read it but I believe we may get a matchless amp and a reverse delay with 2.1.0 which I am super pumped about. I think the reverse delay will unlock a bunch of ambient soundscape potential

I love ambient sounds too. Right now I am using my QC on my Pedalboard along with my Halo, Cloudburst, and I just got the new Strymon Brig. Fun stuff! I also just bought the Matchless Chieftain capture from Worship Tutorials. Sounds really good. I like low gain or edge of breakup because I play at church.
