I have a problem. Windows 10 (also win 11 in the second pc). The computer stopped seeing the usb device. (Device manager reports “Unknown USB device”) Quad Cortex firmware 3.0.0. Both PCs are up to date. Cortex Control is also up to date (v 1.1.0). Right after the update everything worked. The problem is only now after 14 days.
Try an alternate USB port, also ensure that if you are using a USB hub that it is powered. Lastly would be to swap out your USB cable with a know working cable and try with the OEM power supply. Verify with your I/O menu that you see USB signal incoming or outgoing etc.
If you still have issues, try backing up and completing a factory reset and restore. Worst case, email support@neuraldsp.com so they can log your issue and provide resolution.
I don’t use a hub, I tried 2 cables - otherwise they are OK. You can see USB active in the quad cortex settings. I tried both a hard PC and a laptop. In both devices, everything worked until 14 days ago. Now the USB can be seen as an unknown device in windows device manager. The universal driver just doesn’t work in Windows. I’m looking for another option before I reset the whole thing.
Do you have the most current USB driver installed?
I have the latest USB audio driver installed, nothing else Neural offers. I have now done a factory reset and the problem still persists. My Windows just doesn’t see the device. Device Options - Diagnostics - USB Statistics shows the USB as connected, but the communication with the PC does not take place. Perhaps it would be enough if Neural released a separate USB driver and did not rely on Plug and Play in Windows.
They do. Go to Downloads - Neural DSP and download the Installer for Quad Cortex:
But that’s the Quad Cortex sound card driver. Of course I have it installed. But it is not a device driver as such. I think it’s some kind of bug in CorOS 3.0.0., where slightly older PCs just don’t see the Quad Cortex.
I just connected it, didn’t change anything and it works. I don’t understand.
That is the driver I was referring to, that is so your PC can communicate with your QC.
