Hi guys! i’m having an issue to connect my QC to my phone router, it goes on loading but never connects. with other phones it connects immediately but with mine this issue never fixed, even after the update! Has anyone had the same issue?
do you have non-standard characters in the SSID name? The QC doesn’t like those
No the SSID has only letters so i don’t think that’s the problem but i’ll give it a try just in case. the main issue is that it used to connect to my phone without problems and out of nowhere now it can’t. i tried to reset the wifi connection and delete the previous networks, but i’m still facing the same issue. i hope to fix it somehow or with the next update
See if you can switch your phone access point between 2.4 and 5 Ghz.
The QC only supports 2.4 Ghz, so it may not work if your phone is set to provide 5Ghz only.
also, contact Support@neuraldsp.com if you haven’t already. You could have a hardware failure that requires repair- it has happened on occasion.
Does it connect to your computer’s internet via USB and Cortex Control? You can’t update that way, but it does enable all the Cloud functions. Have you checked that connectivity?
It seems OP’s problem is the phone and not the QC?:
I’ll give it a try! thank you!
Yes it connects without problems to cortex control and via USB. maybe i have to change the phone.
I don’t know! the phone is a new iphone and the QC still detects my connection but it just goes on loading while never connecting! i didn’t have this issue previously with the same phone. it’s like came out of nowhere.
I don’t think you mentioned which iPhone you have but I am using the newest 16 pro max without issue as a Wi-Fi hotspot. Another issue others have experienced is when using a dual-band Wi-Fi router. The issue was using the same SSID for both 2.4 and 5g and resolved by using unique SSID’s for each band. Also, as @xush mentioned, don’t use any non-standard characters. I know you indicated you are only using letters so make sure you aren’t using any umlaut’s etc., they are the two dots (¨) that appear above the vowels a, o, and u etc., and QC won’t recognize them. Worst case, email support@neuraldsp.com so they can log your issue and hopefully provide resolution.
The hotspot works on android phones for sure, Ive heard some issues with the iphone. But works with android for sure
I hope so! i sent an e-mail to the support, now i have just to wait and i’ll try these tips you gave me! thanks a lot for the feedback.
when i bought the QC, i had an android and it was working fine, but the same issue happened with the android as well. then i changed to the iphone (11pro) and it was working again, but here i am facing the same problem once more.
There’s an option in your phones hotspot settings to maximize compatibility. In classic apple fashion they don’t explain why their special 11 herbs and spices default setting doesn’t play well with other devices but my guess is there’s some extra stuff they throw in by default to let apple devices connect quicker or to provide an extra layer of information to enable certain features to work.
Go to settings → personal hotspot → and tick maximum compatibility.
I have to do this sometimes with devices that have older modems
Yes, this happened to me too for an evening. The next time I turned it on and the problem was gone. Didn’t have the issue again.
Unfortunately i’m still facing this issue! Even the maximize connection! I sent a report the them so now i’ll wait and see
Unfortunately at the end of the day, these things are computers and they get computer like bugs. That’s the on draw back I’m noticing thus far. When you have the actual amps and pedals, there’s no computer bugs, but you get your own brand of problems with them, bad transformers, connections overheating and failing. So it’s a trade off.
I don’t think it’s a bug. It’s probably caused by some wifi configuration that the iPhone enforces for hotspots. The QC does not support a lot of what’s part of the more modern wifi standard versions. Had to reconfigure my routers wifi settings by a lot to get the QC to reliably connect and obtain an IP adress.
Interesting, that’s where I fall behind in technology. All that technical stuff gets to be too much for me.
