WAH Bypass with Expression pedal does not work after restart

CorOS Version: 2.31

Describe your issue:
I successfully assign Exp 1 to activate the Wah pedal when moved away from heel/toe position. Feature works as designed until restart, then I have to reassign the bypass even though the system says it’s assigned. If I don’t reassign the bypass, the wah will not turn on.

Steps to reproduce your issue:

  1. Assign Exp 1 to WAH for position
  2. Assign Exp 1 to Wah bypass for Heel Toe
  3. Power off unit and restart. Feature must be put in place again.

I expected this to happen:
When I turn the QC on, I expect my preset to keep the expression pedal settings.

I have tried the following things:

  • Adding the parameter with Cortex Control and saving
  • Adding the parameter with touch screen and saving

I have a similar problem.
I assigned exp 1 for the wah and the exp 2 ( foot switch) to bypass.
It works perfectly, I saved everything.
I changed the preset and come back to he previous one and the exp 2 ( foot switch) assigned doesn’t work at all. It’s shown as assigned, but it does nothing. If I assign it again, it works.
This, when playing live is an absolute nightmare.

has anyone reported this directly to Support@NeuralDSP.com ?
sounds like a bug.

In the meantime, you can try a soft-restore of the OS (shouldn’t erase your content) or a full backup/factory reset/restore and see if that shakes the bug loose. They’d probably have you try that anyway.

Yes! I have an open case and shared videos and my preset with them. They stopped replying once I believe they recognized it was a true issue. cc @serayllon

I have solved the problem!
I have changed the wah preset from “bad horse” to any other Wah and it works.
The issue only happens with the “bad horse” wah in my QC….

Oh right! I forgot to include that my issue was exclusive to the Clyde Wah. All the others work. I’ll have to test Bad Horsie. So weird.

That’s so strange.
Perhaps it has to do with the first wah we configured???
Was the clyde wah the first one you used???

I’ve also noticed if you load a wah with a fixed toe position it does not load the preset to that setting correctly. But if u switch scenes it pulls the correct setting. Useful w Khruangbin

I don’t think so! I think I started with the Buddha or the Morley and changed it to Clyde. When I go back to Morley, no issues. Very weird. No wonder they got quiet about it, it’s tricky.

Well! I have fixed it!

I did a factory reset and created a new preset only with the bass Wah.
First, recalibrate your expression pedals.

I realised that the first time I assigned the expression pedal, I have to assign the Bypass to the footswitch (Exp 2 in my case) before the wah to the Exp 1.

Then, change the wah to Bad horse and follow the same procedure. First assign bypass to exp 2 and then wah to exp 1.
Now everything is working.

After that you have to save that parameters as default (from the 3 dot menu of that block).

This could be because the heeltoe bypass is taken by default and if you assign the wah before to exp 1 , the footswitch (exp 2) is not working properly.

EVERYTHING SOLVED!
