I’m having a really hard time setting up my expression pedal as a volume AND a wah. All the videos I’m seeing don’t really reflect what I’m looking at on my Quad. Please help!
If someone could design a preset that sets up just the expression pedal as a volume/wah it would be SO SO helpful.
What expression pedal do you have? That can impact how the preset would need to be configured.
I have a Mission sp1
I took the initial factory preset (Brit 2203) and modified it to work with your expression pedal. You should be able to download the public preset here: Neural DSP Technologies - Algorithmically Perfect
I could not test it perfectly because my expression pedal is a little different from yours. Mine has a non-latching toe switch whereas the Mission SP-1 has a latching toe switch. The preset assumes you have a TRS cable connecting your main expression output to X1 on the QC, and another TRS cable connecting your toe switch output to X2 on the QC. You will need TRS cables for this to work.
The basic approach is to assign both the volume and wah levels/amounts to X1 (the main expression output). You then assign bypass for both effects to X2 (the toe switch output). On both bypass assignments, you need to change the bypass type to “switch” and turn OFF latch emulation. Note that all of this should already be done in the preset I shared.
The last trick is to get the volume and wah to turn on opposite of each other. Next to the switch setting for X2, there is a small button (with a an arrow pointing up & down). This reverses the bypass setting for that effect. You want to change one, but not both. You may need to swap these if the wrong effect is coming on by default when you load the preset.

Once you settle on which approach you prefer (toggle bypass by switch, Scene assigned bypass, or auto-bypass) it’s a good idea to save those settings as default parameters for your volume or wah blocks of choice, then you never have to reconfigure them again
