Preset state concerning Expression pedal changing presets

Situation:
1 preset, containing 1 wah + 1 volume blocks managed by 1 expression pedal connected with 2 TRS cables (i.e. HoTone Ampero Press II)
The expression pedal is set to switch from wah to volume (and viceversa) by pushing the toe switch on the Ampero (connected to Cortex in EXPR2)
The preset is organized in Scene mode and saved with Volume block ON as default (and not wah)
Despite this if you activate the wah, then switch to another preset (without saving) and come back the wah is still active and not the volume

Is the Scene with the Vol block ON the Default Scene that the preset opens on?
I assume you don’t have Bypasses assigned to Scenes because you’re toggling the Bypass with XP2. It may be that the XP is overriding the Bypass state since you can’t assign it to both Scenes and the XP switch.

You might need to look at your Scene Bypass Behavior settings; there may be a conflict happening there. I don’t have my QC onhand but I believe I run mine in the middle setting option and everything seems to load up in the correct state.

The expression pedal is set to switch from wah to volume (and viceversa) by pushing the toe switch (connected to Cortex in EXPR2)

I dont see how this is possible for the QC. How did you set that up? Is the on/off of the wah and volume assigned to an expression control? You may need to assign a QC stomp to do that.

Someone else posted this video.

I think you want the switch assigned to bypass both wah (default status off) and volume (default statue on) block, so it acts as a toggle between them. You would assign the expression to both blocks.

that’s correct; and you set one block’s state to ‘invert’ to get the toggling on/off between them

here’s a template I made with all the different configurations for the Ampero Switch II:

each row demonstrates a different approach: Switch toggle, auto-bypass, Scene Assign, etc

It should be a feature request…
Mine scenes works for others parameters and not for wah/volume blocks that are completely managed by exp pedal behavior toggling by toe switch on it

Exactly. Effectively I’m the author of this video :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Absolutely yes, the change from wah to volume is done by pressing the switch on the Ampero expression pedal

The default scene is with Vol block on.. despite this when i activate the wah (by pressing the toe switch on the Ampero) and then i change preset (without saving the preset) the wah remains activated..

Can you be more specific? I would like to achieve that my preset (at default) will be with Wah disabled and Vol ON.
Then if i press the toe on Expr pedal the state wil alternatevely changes between wah/volume (in any scenes)
And until this point i already achieved my goal..
But… if i activate the Wha, then i change preset and come back the preset remains with wah activated

I understand what you say and it’s logical at all…
What a shame…

I’m not sure about that; (don’t have my QC so can’t experiment, but my Presets always default to the correct saved states when switching in and out of them)

I think w/ the Ampero Press II it’s more a case of XP1 = the pedal and XP2 = the switch. You can invert those of course, but the actual mechanical functions being assigned to the QC are pedal treadle vs switch.
So both fx have to be assigned to XP1 as pedal, and both fx have to be assigned to XP2 as the bypass switch to toggle between.

@tribalita - have you tried this with a different Wah? I recall seeing that one of the wah’s had a glitch at some point. Try swapping one out to see if its this, it may be that your assignments are all correct and it’s just the effect itself glitching . Have you tried the template Preset I linked above? The first row is configured to work how you are requesting. If you test with that, we can eliminate whether it’s your QC, your config, or the blocks itself.
Also, be sure to check the Bypass state configuration setting in your device settings menu, it could be you have it set to overwrite the preset with changes you make via switch

I’m out of this thread.

I meant no offense, and I certainly could be wrong. Sometimes I misinterpret too.
Hopefully I didn’t run you off

I just think there’s something else wrong somewhere causing his issue. I can’t test more till my QC returns from repair.

I tink that Diffractioncircuit simply came out of discussion because the problem has been solved…
