Using midi controller with stomp mode

I want to use a controller for toggling stomps on and off and for moving from one preset to another. I cannot understand how to set this up. Can someone please help me out?

I just cannot interpret what the manual is saying.

I simply want one button to move from the first preset in folder 3 to the second preset and so on, and then another button to go backwards.

And then buttons assigned as stomps E-H
