USB audio from phone intermittently stops playing through Quad Cortex – CorOS 4.1.0

When I connect my phone to the Quad Cortex via USB to play along with songs, the audio works normally at first, but after some time the phone audio stops being heard through the Quad Cortex. The song keeps playing on the phone (it doesn’t pause), and the USB IN 1/2 meters on the Quad Cortex continue showing incoming signal, but the audio cannot be heard.

Steps to reproduce your issue:

  1. Connect the phone to the Quad Cortex via USB cable
  2. Set HP Source to USB 1/2
  3. Play a song from any app (Spotify, YouTube, Suno)
  4. Wait several minutes while playing along with the music
  5. The USB audio suddenly stops being heard, even though the song continues playing on the phone and USB IN 1/2 shows signal

I expected this to happen:
I expect the USB audio to play continuously and steadily through the Quad Cortex while the phone is connected and playing music, without cuts or interruptions.

I have tried the following things:

  • I have tried different USB cables and the problem persists
  • I have tried several audio applications (Spotify, YouTube, Suno) and it happens with all of them
  • I have checked the USB IN 1/2 meters, which continue showing signal when the audio cuts out
  • I have paused the song, waited a few seconds, and pressed play again, which temporarily restores the audio, but the problem happens again

My current setup:

  • Quad Cortex running CorOS 4.1.0
  • Phone connected directly via USB
  • HP Source: USB 1/2

Additional question:
Could this issue be related to the USB audio changes in CorOS 4.1.0? Is there anything else I can check or any diagnostic information I can provide to help identify the problem?

Thanks!

I am running backing tracks via usb audio using my iPads and iPhone without issue. Are you using Apple or Android? Otherwise, I can duplicate the issue. You might want to try backing up, factory reset and restore. If you continue to have issues, please email support@neuraldsp.com.
