Triggering Stomp On/off via Ableton MIDI?

Has anyone successfully set up Ableton (or any DAW) to trigger Stomp mode blocks on and off via MIDI?
I can set up a clip that sends the CC message for that stomp (i.e. CC 35 for Stomp A, CC 36 for Stomp B, etc), but once I actually get it to trigger, that stomp just wildly flickers on and off nonstop until I restart the QC.
I’m trying to learn Max For Live now to see if I can build something that’ll send shorter messages, as I have a feeling it’s the continuous nature of the MIDI message that’s causing the issue, but like…I must be missing something, right?

Have you tried setting ‘Ignore duplicate PC’ = ‘On’ in the MIDI settings. Also make sure ‘MIDI Thru’ = ‘Off’.

Btw, are you also sending a Value (0-127) along with the CC for activating/bypassing the stomp.

You’re a lifesaver. “Ignore Duplicate PC” was it, thank you so much!
