Hi guys!

Same here :persevere: Cortex Control finds the unit and I can control everything as usual via my laptop but the screen is just full of lines. With Cortex Control I can set the brightness of the display that’s it.

The QC goes in the original NDSP Gig Case after every session (I’m playing just at home on my couch). So after it arrived it never left my house.

I have my QC for less than a month now (fully new). I‘m using the original power supply only and no external fx pedals or something like that. Just the QC hooked on the original power supply the original usb cable and the guitar with a D’Addario Premium Intrument Cable.

Nothing unnormal happend before, I didn’t drop the unit or other impacts or something like that. Just normal use as daily since I got it.

I tried the normal reset and the factory reset through Cortex Control but this didn’t fix it :triumph:

I‘m very upset right now because I finally joined a band since the pandemic and next week we want to practice for the first time.

UPDATE: I noticed that every time I start the QC the lines are in different shape/order. And when it’s fully booted I can press the power button and the display gets brighter (I think the window for choosing to reboot and shutdown etc. appears behind the lines) and when I tap the area on the display where the shutdown button usually is located it shuts down

So the display still knows where the display buttons are and the touch works too. So I assume it’s more a software issue?

How did your cases end after contacting the NDSP support?

Where did you get it at Sweetwater? If it’s been less than 30 days call them asap. If not personally I’d email support@Neuraldsp.com Stay on the same thread with them. But no reason to wait. Do it as soon as you have time.

No not from Sweetwater I’m from Germany. NDSP support answered and suggested I should contact my dealer for a RMA process. They think it’s more hardware related.

So I contacted my dealer. I think he will answer on Monday and then we will see.

Are NDSP do something like courtesy things for the bad experience thats someone made as kind of a apology? Does anyone knows how NDSP handles cases like this?

I mean it’s a expensive premium product and yes things like this can happen but after less than a month by just playing/using the QC at home on the couch?

Is that’s maybe the reason why Aaron from Intervals suddenly moved to using the Fractal Gear again? Because the QC can have so many different issues?

I could understand it when I imagine this happens while running a sold out show :confounded: Or to have the fear of that happening.

But I must say the time I could use the QC was fantastic but it is very sad that this ended so fast :pensive:

It’s possible he got sent free units. Read somewhere online that Neural was a sponsor for an Intervals tour. Probably switched when the contract was up, or had weird units that weren’t reliable. Also….that guy uses a 12 button footswitch for scenes, etc with the Fractal. Quad Cortex is immediately not an option if that’s the case + now has gapless preset switching.

Honestly love how the unit sounds, but I’ve been having to bring two on tour so I have a backup. Mainly because the QC doesn’t feel that well built for touring, unless it’s just strapped inside a big rack. Really hate to say that about it, especially since the size, sound, routing, and ui are perfect for me.

I think it’s more of the other things. In the Fractal videos Aaron speaks about still using scenes and still running a completely midi controlled show. Just for the new album stuff he uses an expression pedal from Fractal for the panning and eq sweepings.

For this kind of use the QC is equal good to the fractal stuff if not too crazy fx paths are necessary imo.

I could recreate all scenes needed for the whole memory palace songs to learn and letting switch via midi. And that in stereo with two external cabs + xlr/stereo cab block for foh.

However I really hope my QC gets repaired or replaced as quick as possible and honestly I would really appreciate if NDSP cares about the issues and understand how frustrating it is to finally get hands on an unit and something like this happens after a few days of using it.

And as I said it would be very wonderful to get a honest apology and not just some sentences via mail in the end.

I really love playing with the QC and I loved the plugins on from the beginning. And I hope NDSP loves their customers as much as they do their products.

Sorry for the many posts but it were a big shock for me because I tried getting a QC for the last years, finally got the chance to get one and then this :pensive:

Have you heard back from support? I have this issue today.

Hi

@JustinGoguen How old is your unit?

Yes here is the answer in sum:

Unfortunately, we believe this issue is most likely hardware-related.

Given that your purchase was made recently, we suggest that you promptly reach out to your dealer to initiate the RMA process, which is usually the fastest way to solve these types of issues. They may be able to offer a replacement.

We understand your frustration and concerns. Despite our best efforts, unfortunately, these rare circumstances can still occur.

I’ve had one since May 2021, but I had it replaced under warranty for a different issue already. Likely won’t cover me this time. Ugh.

it ended up doing the same thing with another power supply.

Im a bit confused now  With another power supply it first worked and when did the issue coming back again.

Did the issue come back while the QC was running or after a new start?

I tried another power supply and it worked for about 5 minutes. It’s not working anymore with either power supply

Okay thank you I had hopes for a second

What specs the non-stock power supply has, the same?

It´s a computer, It can happen.
You are in germany… the guarantee regulations are NonPlusUltra.
I would not worry about getting a new unit in a few working days…

What do you mean courtesy? Send it back email them first support @neuraldsp.com.com and they’ll fix it. They probably will pay shipping both ways and these are the chances you take with software based modelers. Amps break down too. Aaron loved it. It’s the only other modeler I’ve seen him use. There’s tons of bands, and players that use it. He was endorsing it. Go watch him with Rick Beato. He decided to go back to fractal which is a pain to set up. I was told he still uses it. Maybe at home idk I’m not into his music. There were probably 100’s of thousand units sold. Get a back up. I don’t think they’re more expensive than a good amp. I’m not wealthy but guitar is my priority so save up or trade up for a back up otherwise switch I guess. I think it’s the best one out of all the modelers. The UI the feel. I hated the Kemper and helix. I love amps first and quad next.
