Toggle for Gig view on by default

That would be great! I like the idea of an option for it to boot up in gig mode as well.

This sounds great. Any idea where to get a reaaaaaaally short midi cable?

ETA: I found these 30cm / 1ft cables with low profile right angled heads, should hopefully stuff under my pedalboard without too much excess!

yep, something like that is your best bet. 1" is the shortest I can find, and those right-angled heads will usually squeeze in there

You should find the Roland/Boss midi cables. They can adjust how the cable is angled, and can fit on a board easier. The right angle of those rock board ones is kinda annoying

I hope they include this in 3.2.0 update. This is a must have feature.

Yes, please implement this. A pretty simple request lol

Super useful yet simple to implement I think.

+1.

It’s not a huge deal and you can do the MIDI hack, but I’d rather not have to deal with extra cabling/configuration. I’d just like a toggle in the System menu.

Good UI/UX design aims to minimize unnecessary options and toggles—simplicity is key.

That’s why it makes the most sense for the Quad Cortex to boot up in the same state it was in before shutdown (including the last active scene and/or stomps).

You could resume directly into whichever view was active:

  • Grid view

  • Gig view

  • Looper X view

without more system settings….

PS: and ffs, add a way to switch between grid and gig view using buttons!!!

This really cannot be difficult to implement. At all

This is what I was thinking, have the last state stored in the unit before it’s powered down.

I’d love to be able to push a button with my foot to go from grid view to stomp or scene mode.

+1 We need this essential feature for gigging musicians. Can’t believe I have to lean down at every gig, remove my protective cover and swipe twice (never works on the first time) to activate gig mode.

I’m seriously considering going to other more gig ready units.

can you use the Midi jumper Loopback hack in the meantime? Or are your midi jacks already in use?

I just googled Midi jumper loopback. Seems like it could do the trick for me in the meantime. I’ll test asap. Thanks for letting me know about it!

Midi jumper loopback works perfectly, I had an extra angled MIDI cable with minimal space impact that I just tried now. I’m hoping for the feature, but in the meantime it works.

NSP this should be a no brainer functionality and I can’t understand how complicated this could be to implement…just place it under settings > device
something like “Default Start View” like Gig View or Grid View, this is irrelevant amount of work! with all due respect wake up!

100% agreed, this really needs to be implemented!

From a UX perspective the most logical solution would be to simply boot up in the view that was last open, similarly to how it recalls what preset you were on. That said, I’d accept having a toggle to explicitly set the global default view.

Regardless, I think it’s key that switching presets should never change the view unexpectedly, which I assume will happen when using the MIDI workaround, since this effectively sets the default view per preset instead of globally…
