The tap tempo screen is a little too much during a live performance and it stays up too long making it where you can’t see or use your stomps. It would be nice to have the tempo appear as an overlay on the screen while performing so it doesn’t interrupt.
Hello.
Yes, I don’t see the need to have that screen everytime time you tap the tempo.
Many of our songs start with the singer or the drummer counting, so I tap the tempo with them and when the count finishes I push a foot switch for a lead sound. It doesn’t work here. Now I have to change the scene before tapping the tempo and it can be a very noisy scene.
It’s a very nice screen, that’s true, but it would be great to be able to deactivate it.
I’ve checked the last manual and I don’t see a change here.
Thanks.
(I must be very strange because not a lot of people seem to be interested in this). ![]()
FULLY agreed with original poster. If there was a way to have the tempo displayed on either the grid view and/or gig view instead of having the tempo screen, that’d feel so much better as a performer.
Absolutely !! I was about to post this too.
I’ve recently noticed that if I hit any other footswich after the tap tempo, the tempo screen disappears but the sound doesn’t change. This way, at least I can hide that screen and then press the footswitch I need.
Anyway I hope that someday it will be possible to choose if you want that screen or not.
P.D.: I think it’s not been implemented in the last firmware. Right?
Thank you.
That screen is so annoying. I like to tap tempo before turning the delay on, just to be sure I’m in sync with the drummer. And that screen is always on the way, preventing me from turning the delay on when I need. Please, NDSP, ALLOW US TO DISABLE THAT TAP TEMPO SCREEN. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
I’ve asked for the same thing a few times.
I tap the tempo before the song starts, when the drummer starts to count. Sometimes I have to start with the delay on. It’s annoying. I can’t understand the reason for not allowing us to disable the tap tempo screen. How long would it take to implement it for the programmers? 5 minutes?
Please.
Totally agreed. It’s a pain in the a** and I bet it’s not hard to implement the option to disable it as well
Come on guys, this is asked since 2021.
I cannot understand how hard it is to add a setting flag: “Show screen on tap tempo“.
End of story. Let us choose if we want to see the screen or not.
With coros 3.2.0 now it’s even worse. Before, we cold quickly get out of the screen by presing any unused footswitch by tap tempo screen.
But now, all footswtiches are assigned, your only option is to wait until it goes off.
Hey, I found if you press the preset up button (the lonely one parallel with the big volume knob) while in the tap tempo screen it will minimize the tap screen.
Will save you a few seconds!
Yes… I realize that too… But it’d be even better if the screen never shows at all, if we configure that.
This screen doesn’t make any sense for my usage
I just updated my quadcortex. They not only kept the tap tempo screen, but they made it bigger, and now ALL THE LIGHTS turn on when you tap it.
I wonder if people who make and program Quad Cortex play live. And I can bet they don’t.
Just give us an option to turn the tap tempo screen off, for God’s sake.
Honestly, it’s crazy they haven’t adjusted this. I have no desire to use the tap tempo live because it takes up the whole screen. Def should be an option to adjust in the settings
They adjusted, for the worse. Yesterday I played in a dark environment, and when I tap tempo, all the lights turned on. It shines so bright in your face that it’s uncomfortable.
I appreciate that the new options on the tap tempo screen might be useful to some sort of users, but for live music, when you need to think quickly and have less stuff on the way, it makes your life more difficult.
This could be so easily rectified
In edit preset mode - Bring up the tempo screen fully as it is now
In gig view - PIP little tempo box (similar to the old master volume before 4.0)
It solves it for when you are jamming at home and want to turn the metronome on or off.
Another option would be in settings toggling how the tempo screen displays in either of the 2 views. This gives allowances for users with a specific use cases and doesn’t change workflow for people who don’t want the change.
