I think this will be interesting. Looks like the Captain 50 (on the QC) is now part of the Morgan Plugin (SW50R). Looks like we are going to have two different versions once (hopefully) the plug in is available on the quad cortex. I’m curious to see if there will be audible differences if/when we can compare side-by-side on the QC.
I was hoping to one day get the AC20 on the QC but now it looks like we’ll have to buy the plug-in. So far I don’t think Neural has given us an amp on the QC that’s in one of the plug ins…
we have the Tone King Imperial captures on the QC. Other than that it seems like there are cross-overs with models of amps that are VERY similar but not the exact same version.
I compared the AC30 and Princeton models on the QC with their Morgan versions in the new plugin last night and they’re pretty dang close
How do you think the three stack up when using the same cab? I feel the cabinet is a big part of what makes the plugin awesome, and I’m really into it. Trying to decide if I should go for it. I was going to compare it with my QC, but it’s in for repair. Any insights would be cool. Thanks for the info!
to me, they feel and sound like the models they’re based on. Comparing them to similar amps in the QC- they behave like they should, and sound as expected.
I think the cab in the plugin is the MVP though- I captured it for use in the QC to compare everything and to me it sounds better than any of the QC cabs (for this application anyway) It is a GREAT cab sim. I might make a few more captures with different mics/positions, I really like it
i agree, the default preset cab is soo good.
Would you mind share the captures on the cloud? I doubt i’ll have my qc in time to capture the cab before the trial ends
