I have studied the manual and cannot find a way for QC to receive a midi clock!
Has someone managed to send a certain tempo using a CC message?
Thanks
Bumping this from 2023. Can you really not do this?
Most MIDI devices do not use a CC value for tempo, it uses its own clock for tempo. I just hooked up my QC to my computer running Ableton and when I change the tempo of the song in Ableton it syncs up immediately with the tap tempo of the QC.
The manual on page 92 also states you can use CC#44 value 0-127 for Tempo BPM, but I don’t know what the CC value to tempo relationship is, as anything under 40 is too slow to be useful and 127 is a very low max tempo for a lot of things. I would just use midi clock.
Hi, The CC#44 works like the TAP tempo, you need to send it twice, setting the tempo, the CC value doesn’t matter.
Hi!! Have you programmed the CC#44 messages in any DAW? I’m trying to do it and I can’t get it to set the time I need. I send a message on each beat of the measure (a couple of times) and I can’t get it to set the tempo correctly (in a song at 170 BMP it puts me at 150)
Thanks
I
Still waiting for information to send the tempo to QC …
Thanks
Configure your sending device to send midi beat clock to the channel the QC is set to listen on. The QC will use it if it receives it (indicated by the tempo LED flashing blue). There really isnt anything else that has to be done to get it working.
Yes !!!
In fact, from the moment I write a command to select the preset on QC, automatically the bpm is sent and the light becomes blue.
