I’m trying to use the ‘record stop’ function via midi, to allow me to work around the issue of only having a single looper channel (it would be a great update to be able to use more than one looper block in a preset)
The idea is to record a loop of a verse or chorus that I want to save for later for backing a solo (ie I do NOT want it to play immediately I stop recording)
I’m wondering if the midi functionality would allow me to do this?
From the user manual I see this;
“Record/Stop. •
Value 0-63 = Stop recording •
Value 64-127 = Record/Overdub/Stop
(*Value 0-63 works as long as the parameter is set to momentary and value 0-63 is sent on MIDI controller footswitch release)”
Can anyone explain how this works? Does it allow you to assign a midi function to stop recording immediately without playing back?
And when it says ‘as long as the parameter is set to momentary’ does anyone know if they mean the looper record is set to momentary within the Looper X on the QC OR do they mean the midi signal is assigned to a momentary switch on the external midi controller? If so I don’t think my controller (Airstep) can do that
