QC connects to wifi, won't sign in

Hi there,

My new Quad Cortex just arrived yesterday.
It connects to my wireless network, but when I try to sign into my account, I keep getting a “something went wrong; error 3” message.

Tried hotspotting my iPhone, but when the QC attempts to connect to it, I just get a perpetual spinning ‘loading’ wheel and I have to reboot the QC to get it to stop.

Anyone else having similar issues? Thanks for reading.

Quite a number of similar experiences have been reported: WiFi issues

However, most (including myself) have been able to resort to hotspots as an alternative.

Thanks for the reply.

I have tried connecting to my iPhone via hotspot, but the QC seems to hang up while connecting and gives me the spinning loading wheel forever.

I will attempt to connect the QC to my mac via usb cable later and attempt to update it with Cortex Control. Hopefully that works.

Will update when I can.

do you have any non-standard characters in your user name, SSID, etc?

You won’t be able to update w/ CoCo, so far it can’t do that unfortunately- you’ll have to update via wifi

Do you know if I will be able to log into my account on the QC with usb via cortex control? I would like to at least be able to authorize my X plugins

@xush

No non standard characters in my user name or SSID

That should be possible if you can get signed in

I was able to get signed in and authorize the plugins that were already installed on the QC. I can’t get it to update. It just tells me “the update procedure has failed” when I try to check for new updates.

is it brand new? Seems like I read someone recently had to send back a new unit that wouldn’t update.
Sounds like it’s not staying connected long enough to complete the update.

Update: Yes, it is brand new.

I was finally able to get it to update. I changed the name of my iPhone’s hotspot to a name that didn’t contain any special characters and I was able to get the QC to connect and finish the update process. Thankful to get this problem solved.

Bro dont even worry ! I know it sucks , to me it happened that there was no way to update to 3.1.0 it was always the same error. Dont panic ! Contact their customer service by email. They will fix it by asking for the serial after they check nothing else helps. They will look into your device from their side and fix it. Its just some software error they can fix by clicking a button. I hope this helps to releaf the stress and to have a geat christmass!
