Let me assure everyone that EVERY (and I do mean every) troubleshooting step, I have done. Every last one.
Can’t get rid of the background hiss that I believe is to be noise floor.
SETUP:
active pickup les Paul to inst input of Focusrite Scarlett solo 3rd gen, to MacBook, output to Adam audio t5v monitors. MacBook and monitors running power from Forman power conditioner.
Standalone and inside Logic Pro usage. Tried both 44 hz and 48hz. Different sample rates. MacBook on intel processor with 8gb ram
Different cables, di box, different rooms of my house… Nothing helps to make this awful noise go away.
Please do not mention noise gate, the sound is still there when gate is active. Gate only works to stop all sound at certain threshold.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Here is also a screen recording of what I am referring to.
I have contacted neural dsp customer service, sent them both audio and screen recordings, now they are basically ignoring my inquiry.
Increase the gain on your audio interface, right before it starts clipping
Bring down the “Input” gain on the plugin an equivalent amount (you basically want to take away what you added on the interface, do it by ear/feel for now)
Usually these issues are due to improper gain staging. Noise can also be a result of electrical interference nearby (e.g. LED lights, poor cables and dirty power). To me, it sounds like a gain staging problem. You mentioned using an LP with active pickups etc., have you tried another guitar, guitar cables, battery? I’m also curious what support recommended as its not normal for support to ‘ignore’ any inquiries.
I was getting a bunch of noise when my guitar was near my Macbook. honest. That was Axe-fx3 and Neural plug-ins. Primarily leaning in to make adjustments.
