Hi,
I’ve been using Soldano and Tone King plugins with my Scarlett solo and old laptop with success. Couple months ago I have bought new PC and now I’m trying to set everything up on my new computer. Plugins installed and have the same settings as before on laptop. Using the same audio interface as before. And now, unfortunately, after launching plugins there is a lot of noise, gate can cut it out but when set on 70% let say. Signal from audio interface is coming to plugin but sound from plugin is not good. It is hard to explain because you can hear that clean preset is somewhat clean but with unwanted distortion. When using overdriven presets it is mess.
I have checked different USB ports in my PC and no difference. I swapped computers - connected interface with old laptop instead of PC - and everything works fine
Both, laptop and PC are connected to the same power supply.
What can I do more?
Hi that is very peculiar… It’s very hard to troubleshoot noise and issues like that without pc in front of us…
- Do you hear this noise problem when listening to music also?
- Screens or any peripheral equipment should be at a good distance from pc. As in not on top or right beside
- How close are you sitting to your pc with your guitar in hand? Have you tried moving your guitar away from pc to the left or right…cause your pickups can soak up all that interference
- Also moving your seating distance further away…
- If none that works sometimes components in the pc can cause noise like a faulty fan etc but that’s very rare…
- Can you record the noise your hearing so people can hear it, can help diagnose what mite be going on… Hope you can get it sorted
Thanks for reply. It seems solution was to move away from PC and turn guitar, from totally PC-frontal position, by like 80degrees left or right (90 degrees catches another batch of interference of some kind). Also turning down gain knob on audio interface helped. I didn’t have such issues with laptop and I also didn’t have to lower down gain on audio interface. Thanks for help!
Delighted you got it figured out… Happy Pickin
