Fortin nameless X suite noise issue in quad cortex

So Ive been doing a lot of research on this and it seems the fortin nameless plugin has had people complaining about low frequency noise and odd static that flucuates. Seems in those situations everyone wanted to blame their interface and this or that.

But I installed this plugin on my Quad and this same noise can be heard. And it seems like in all situation with the input noise gate plugin noise gate and zuul noise gate in multiple combinations you are choking off the sound and sustain of the guitar or you get a constant odd sound coming through your signal.

Am I just stupid or is there a way of using a noise gate or a actual noise filter to remove all background noise from a signal chain. If its me I totally have no problem with that. But its through the headphones, my laptop into an FRFR Speaker. It really doesnt seem to matter which way I try to use the nameless amp in a high gain situation the way you think its supposed to sound without this odd noise.

Anyone have an issue like this? I can swap it for darn near any amp and it sounds amazing. Right not I have the plini, gojira and nameless and have the petrucci but only on my laptop till whenever thats available. I have no noise issues with any other devices.

Ive checked my inputs and outputs, levels, new cables making sure Im not hitting limiters. Thoughts from those who most certainly know more about this than I?

I bend a knee lol

Noises , static, hiss etc seems to be a big problem for a lot of users (including me) an none for some others…

I don’t own compatible plugin for the moment so i can’t say about the nameless but does your noises are like those in this video ? :

This guy seems to have found something to remove a lot of noise but don’t know how he does it.

I am going to watch the video. But oddly enough after getting my original unit back from the service center in california for a bad screen I got it back the input 1 jack extremely loose internally and not wanting to hold a 1/4 jack. Took very minimal effort to remove. So the company I bought it from after I talked to them about several other issues it had replaced it. I had not mentioned the excessive noise.

I got the new unit today and its a night and day difference. My old unit made an insanely loud pop every time powering it down with the speaker on. The tuner was ultra finicky and was alway shaking back and forth. I thought it was just very sensitive. The new unit is quiet. Like I actually turned my noise reduction off and eliminated several gates.

The LED"s are MUCH brighter. The laser etching on the case is much easier to see. Rotory switches work in real time and in the proper increments. And the old unit got warm enough that it was worrying me that it lacked internal fans so I always kept it elevated for as much ventilation as possible. I played for an hour on this one and it was warmer than room temp but nothing that made me concerned like my previous unit.

Even when I got the old unit back from the service center they tightened the bottom of the case down so much they literally bent the four corners and bowed the plate. Im REALLY REALLY glad the retailer replaced it. Because I dont think the one I got was ever right. And to get it back from service in worse condition than I got it wasnt really acceptable to me.

And the communication was poor and the unit was gone for a month. Now if anything happens with this one after im out of warranty im going to find an expert on these things. But for some reason with so much obviously improved over my previous I dont have any concerns about this one.

I dont know if there was a bad batch or what the story is. And im sure I will never know the actual answers. Im just happy to have a unit that is working better than I thought was actually possible and feels like quality.

And many might say the differences in the feel of the two units might just be because the other was used so much. But im a bedroom player with 20 patches of my own. And im a bedroom player. That unit has never left my house and was babied. Which made the situation even that much more puzzzling.

Yeah see that sorta bothers me. He has a method to reduce that noise but you have to buy one of his preset packs and if you want to apply that you basically have to reverse engineer what he did. I however dont plug my cortex into a computer. Its pretty close to the ZLX PA speaker I use for it but the new unit has no background noise. All that weird static and noise that you would hear is completely gone after having the unit replaced.

Essentially, what I think he is doing is splitting the signal with a crossover split, then putting an extra gate on just the high portion of the signal.

Set it to around 1500Hz, and you can add a pretty drastic gate that won’t cause too much issue as you only need the ā€˜attack’ of your guitar to come through there.

It also annoys the hell out of me when people lock knowledge behind a paywall.

Here’s a rough test version I built:

Thanks man. I will check it out if need be. My noise issues are gone. But thank you for being cool. Ive been in situations with other types of musical equipment where people wanted to buy my presets. I would never do it. I just put them on google drive and shared an open link on the regular of all my latest presets. I make tones for myself. If people like them? Cool use it. I dont look at my settings as intellectual property. And its totally awesome when someone tells you that they are thankful to you because you didnt charget them anything and they like the sounds better than what they paid for. I havent done that with the quad cortex. But I did make presets for the pearl mimic and was on the beta testing team. Half of the guys were ā€œsound sellersā€. We had a private FB group. Those dudes hated me because I gave my stuff away and then people would be recommending my free downloads instead of buying anything. And i never had a problem helping people dial in their kits. Even if they had triggers I never used. That was a few years back. But I kinda felt like a mini Robin Hood by giving sounds and tutorials away. I eventually left the beta testing group because I had clashes with the developer. Great dude. Really really great dude. But he had no set path or vision and changed his mind back and forth which stalled development. Like I dont want to be part of a beta testiing team where 9 months go by and all of a sudden you get a list of demands and a time in which to get it done by. Anyway im rambling. Thanks again for the link!

So it seems that some unit have this problem and some don’t…

It explain why some users are just saying they don’t have any noises and others a lot !!

I guess i am with the unluckys this time…

My unit was repaired by NDSP already (volume button problem) i pointed that i founded my unit very noisy and if they could look if there wasn’t a problem with it but it returned with the same amount of noise.
