Describe your issue:
I use quad cortex both as output and input device in my DAW (live). After latest 3.2.0 update I have the issue:
I work in daw, I play my track, playback is fine. But when i switch between presets the playback stops for a moment, not only my input signal, which would be okay, but the whole playback/output(other instruments that I have in my project, including midi tracks)
Steps to reproduce your issue:
open DAW
set input and output to use quad cortex
hit play to play some recorded tracks
switch preset on quad cortex.
I expected this to happen:
I expect the playback not to stop, as it was before, only input had some delay because of changing preset.
You’re having playback cut for a second when you switch presets? That’s totally normal behavior with basically any modeler. This isn’t a bug. The QC doesn’t have gapless switching. All outputs of the unit will cut for a sec if you’re switching do a different preset while sound is playing or you’re playing an instrument into it
I’m using QC for almost 2 years now and it never was a thing. Input gap is okay. But stopping the whole output signal is wrong and annoying. Imagine writing a drums part in your daw, and trying to play on top of it. And when you have to switch preset the whole playback stops for half a second, just because you’ve switched preset. I want to highlight it: I don’t expect input to be gapless, but the output should not be choking. It was never an issue, but it is now, with the latest update
Yes. I’m sure, I was playing this morning. Then remembered about the update. Updated, and now I have this issue. And it’s not “slight“ it’s very significant, especially when you have weveral written parts, like piano, drums, base, strings, and you just don’t have a part to play on guitar, and want to switch between presents with complete different effects. And the whole playback stops while the preset is loading
make a video and submit to Support@neuraldsp.com in case it’s a bug/glitch that the update is causing. They won’t see this report here, so it’s best to let them know directly in case it’s something they need to fix
Are you sure? I’ve tried using the looper on the previous OS and it briefly cut audio with a preset change. It’s kept me from using the looper in the QC
