Hi everyone. This one is strange. I updated the nano. The update got stuck so I pulled the power and tried to reboot it. No luck. I unplugged the guitar in, the guitar out and the midi in,rebooted and pressed both 1 & 2 footswitches ( don’t know why, just did it),and nano came to life. If it makes any difference the update was installed. But now every time I reboot I have to take the midi cable out before rebooting, or else it will not boot.
I did yes. They replied almost instantly that they will be preparing a fix. ![]()
This happening to me too. Had to try several times to get the firmware working. It always froze at random parts of the process. Finally it got to the end and turned off but never turned back on.
Then I discovered that unplugging the midi cable helps it turn it on.
It’s really annoying since I have it on my pedalboard and have to move everything every time I want to turn NC on. I’m playing this weekend and hope it doesn’t behave strange then.

For now the procedure is: Power on, midi cable connect, go
. I think (hope) its safe enough
If this wasn’t the behavior before you should inform support. Maybe an easy bug to fix
Yes Same! Practically useless in a live performance as far as I’m concerned. Don’t trust it to stay running .. refuses to fire up with anything else but a power supply plugged into it. The firmware update also failed on re-boot. Very concerning
I am having the same issue. I have to unplug the TRS MIDI cable for it to boot up. I just updated to the latest firmware and thought it failed at first as it wouldn’t boot up. Gave me a good scare as I have band rehearsal tomorrow!
It’s certainly annoying, and hopefully a bug fix is coming soon.
Edit: I emailed support even though I know they’re likely well aware (and they are.) They responded almost instantly:
Unfortunately this is a currently known issue. Our Development team is aware of this.
The good news is that we already have a fix for this, and it will be included in an upcoming update very soon.
Workaround in the meantime:
Simply remove the TRS MIDI cable from the Nano, or disconnect power from the MIDI device. The Nano should then boot normally. Once it’s up and running, you can reconnect the TRS cable or restore power to your MIDI device, and everything should function as expected.
So, a fix is coming soon!
Great! I hope they add v2 capturing in this inminent update!
2.2.1 is released!
Only this quick fix but nice to see the reaction time.
Well, i think who does not use midi, is wise to wait. Software has this, you fix a part and mess others…
Jumped in feet first, lol.
Will report back if any issues. I don’t gig with my NC so happy to play early adopter here.
I did update and do far everything works fine
I use MIDI, have a TRS plugged all the time, and I hadn´t any issue. The Nano boots normally, always. It´s a bug that didn´t happen to all the units, maybe?
What I did notice is some buggy behaviour every now and then. For instance, sometimes, when switching from a preset that has a wah (controlled by CC1) to a preset that has an EQ (level controlled by CC1), the overall level is so low that there´s almost no sound. I have to switch to another preset and come back again to the previous… and then everything is fine. It doesn´t happen always… so it´s not a clear bug. The problem is that it happened to me in a gig… I started a solo with no volume, and had to switch presets to recover the normal level.
I don´t know if it´s a thing of my MIDI controller (Luminite Graviton) or the Nano not receiving properly MIDI messages sometimes and in certain circumstances. I have to research a little more.
Changing presets, while controlling midi creates me trouble. if the midi switch is on one preset and you jump to another preset, to activate new preset’s midi controlled effect you need to tap first to make it off, then tap again to engage it- so need to tap twice on the new preset if the effect was on on previous preset. Not sure if your experience was related w that.
Not really… or maybe yes.
I don´t set on/off effects (I manage that just changing presets). BUT, I control some parameters with a exp pedal through MIDI. Usually, the parameter is just volume. Since there´s no level parameter on the Nano to control this (NDSP, please add global volume function!), I cheat somehow, adding an EQ slot and controlling the level parameter with a CC1 message.
In a few presets I control a Wah effect instead of the EQ.
Noticed several times that, coming from the wah preset to any ohter preset, the volume gets set too low, which gets solved changing again to another preset and coming back.
I think that what you say has sense… I might remember sometimes the volume parameter gets “saved” in a preset, and when you came back to said preset (after have being messing around through other presets, rocking the pedal, etc) the “saved” value preveals to the pedal position or the default preset value, and you have to move the pedal to recover the current status. Maybe what you say is related to this behaviour.
It’s my 4th time trying to installl the update. Do you guys also have to make like 4-8 tries before the firmware updates?
It downloads, transfers, and then just stays there and have to manually turn it off.
We desperately need a desktop software for this. It’s so annoying that everytime they release an update we have to go trough this.
I have my phone sitting in the floor so it can be as close and uninterrupted as possible for the BT transfer and it fails either way.
@Anxel correct, I do use the “save” LED to understand whether the switch is on/off:) mentioned about this to support team already, hope they will make my live performances easier with next updates.
@tangoalfa update was successful on 2nd try on my device- which also gave me an unstable feeling.
