I would like to report an issue that has happened several times with my Neural Cortex.
I had experienced this twice during rehearsals, but last Saturday it also happened in a live situation. While changing presets using a Morningstar MC8 Pro, the Nano Cortex suddenly froze. The unit stayed powered on, but there was no sound at all and it did not respond.
The only solution was to switch the unit off and then on again. After rebooting, it worked perfectly. This has happened a total of three times now, so I believe it is important to report it.
Fortunately, I managed to save the live situation only because the unit boots up relatively fast, but this is obviously a serious issue for live use.
Wow. That´s worrying, for sure. I had issues with MIDI with a Luminite Graviton M1, but not that one. Mine was related to volume (I think it was due to controlling a level parameter into the EQ block via CC1 message). I´d write an e-mail to NDSP support. They are responsive and usually check the issues you throw at them.
Well, my issue happened three times (one of them live… grrrr). It got solved inmediatly, just by switching to another preset and then coming back to the other. The problem is that it happened right in the begining of a solo, so it got messy and sloppy, you know. No sound in the start of the solo, heart attack, quick chaotic stomping in the controller and back again to the solo with 5 seconds missed in the beginning… not a good experience. Some days ago I re-made the preset in a slight different way and couldn´t replicate the fail. It was something related to MIDI controlling EQ block level in a preset and wah in another preset, and going from one to the other. Some weird things happened there. Support team is aware of it, and they weren´t able to replicate it either.
Well it happened already in my last two gigs last time yesterday. I can’t trust the nano anymore. I hope NDSP will fix this in the future. For the moment I am not going to use it anymore live…
Keep us informed! I couldn´t replicate the issue again. That said, I´m not playing too much lately. Very interested in getting this issue solved in order to be able to completely trust the NC for live use.
Same problem here, I’m connected with an M-Vave Chocolate Plus. I have to try it with just the Nano and the expression pedal in case it’s causing a conflict. Let’s see if we can find a solution; it also left me stranded live, restarting the unit mid-song. It’s a shame it’s not reliable for live performances…
