Nailing the Limp Bizkit "Hot Dog" clean delay sound

I’ve been pulling out my non-existing hairs trying to figure out how to get that slapback-style clean delay sound of this verse riff:

(00:34)

Every variation that I try doesn’t feel accurate at all, as if the delays are always “faded” compared to the original signal.

There obviously feels like there’s some envelope filter there as well, but that’s easy enough to achieve. The accurate delay is really elusive :stuck_out_tongue:

Did anyone ever attempt and get a good result out of it? Would really appreciate the help, I feel like I’m missing something silly :joy_cat:

Do you have your delay mix set to 50%?
For some reason the delay mix in QC is not equal volume at 50% but somewhere around 75-80%. That would explain while your delays feel faded.

There’s also a feature requests to change how that setting works: [Option to] Make delay mix equal at 50%
