Master vol on QC

Hi guys. When you are setting up a patch do you find the level of the master vol level on the actual Qc makes a difference to the overall tone of the patch?

Changing the level of the master volume does not affect overall tone of the patch.

Let me take that a step further–our ears are sensitive to different frequencies at different volumes. For example, if you run your QC at max volume level into a PA / FRFR speaker / power amp + cabinet also at loud volume, and then you turn down the QC master knob, you might perceive a change in tone. That’s not a case of the QC simultaneously changing the tone along with volume; it’s just the human ear doing its thing.

I hope this helps.

That makes sense. Thanks for replying.

If you’re curious about this, do a search for “Fletcher-Munson curve”. Some scientists believe this effect is to make our hearing more sensitive to human voices at low volume.

Just a thing to remember since youre on the subject.

The Fletcher munson curve, makes it a bit troubling when dialling a preset at «home level»
So my tip of the day, dial two tones! One for recording. Then copy it, and dial again with master volume full through a PA/FRFR. Then EQ it so it sounds just as good at a high volume :ok_hand:
