Looper X - Start Recording On Release

Hi,

Is there a way to start recording (with the looper) upon release of the footswitch. Pressing the footswitch “arms” it for recording - but it is, out of the box, set to record when audio input reaches a threshold. I do not want that, I want it to start recording when I release the footswitch (the same footswtich that arms it)

I saw a tutorial video that suggested if I turn the threshold parameter OFF, or all the way to the left, if would NOT start recording as soon as I press the record button; but IT STILL IS?

I always use it with the threshold OFF and the loop starts when I press the record button.

Yeah…. BUT….. you get more accurate engagement of the switch with RELEASE. Besides - shouldn’t the user be able to decide??? The other thing is - that I am making an ambient loop, and I am already playing a note, on my violin, before I start recording. I am playing a long note bowing it on the violin. It’s soOOOOooo much easier to start the recording by lifting up my foot off the switch than trying to press down on something.

Is this possible??

Thanks

AJ

it might be possible, as the new Mini switches ONLY function on release. I’m not sure if there’s a physical hardware-related reason for that or what the situation is, but it is implemented on the Mini QC, perhaps it could be made available on the big QC

Does anyone have a work around for this???

Did you try toggling the Record Mode to momentary in page 2 of the params?

The only workaround is to get a midi controller that works on release, or the QC Mini
