QC MINI Footswitch Press/Hold Customization

The QC Mini would benefit greatly from a feature that allows customization of press/release command globally or per preset when activating scenes or working with the looper. By being able to assign “press” instead of “release” for certain foot switches on certain presets or within certain devices (Looper X), it would be much easier to time scene changes and loop start/stop while playing in time.

A very big challenge for me when switching from the QC to the MINI is the foot switch release problem. In order to activate a device/scene/preset/action with a footswitch, the QC mini must read the release of your foot switch instead of the press. This causes huge issues when trying to access a scene change, like a lead sound, instantaneously while being on beat. It makes it very easy to have the change come in late, or just feel like there is latency when changing scenes.

This is an even bigger problem for the Looper X. It becomes very difficult to active the start and stop of the loop and keep it in time. The only solution is to time your looping by pressing on the “and” of beat 4, and releasing on beat 1. This is really too much to manage when performing.

For those dealing with the same issues, the best solution is to get an external MIDI foot switch and assign it to the looper and/or important scene changes. The other solution is to change the global hold timing to the maximum (1000ms) and train your brain to press before the target beat, and release exactly on the target beat.
