Hi,
Many other products (Fractal, Line 6) offer a looper that records on RELEASE of the footswitch, or on press of the footswitch.
WHY? -
-
it’s actually easier to have to footswitch already pressed down, and lift up or angle back, than it is to hold your foot up in the air and press down, or to lift up your foot and press down. There is LITERALLY less physical movement involved. Certainly, some users are “used” to, and have been trained by poorly designed products to press down; but from a literal muscle movement perspective - there is less movement in lifting of the toes off the switch.
-
Ambient loops - I already have the note playing before I start recording; since I play violin I am already bowing the note(s) that I want to loop, and letting me record up release of the footswitch provides an exponentially smoother and software start into the recording for ambient loops or pads; than pressing down.
Thanks
AJ
