Lag when switching between amps in same preset

I have two clean amps in parallel in row 1 (going into two cabs) and two high gain amps in parallel in row 3 (also going into two cabs). The goal is to switch between both sets of amps and cabs, but I get a pretty noticeable lag/silence when switching between them. (both are assigned to the same switch, so when I turn on one, the other turns off). And yes, this also happens in scene mode.

CPU monitor is at 63% so it’s not even at full.

Isn’t the QC supposed to handle this without that lag or am I doing something wrong?

Could you share the preset?
We could test the phenomenon then. In general i did not notice any of those issues while switching between amps.
If i have some craaaazy other changes with an amp change (for example EQ+Comp) then it actually sounds like there is a gap but it isn’t. It’s just the huge difference in tone.

Edit: Are you changing the Tube Mode within the amp? (can’t tell which one you are using there)
Changing those things will create a gap while switching.

Thanks for your help!
I’m experiencing the silence gap when switching between amp sets assigned to footswitch D. I’m not familiar with Tube Mode settings tbh…

I’ll reply on sunday latest cause i’m on a business trip currently. If no one is faster than me with testing, i’ll give you my 2 cents then
If you’re just changing the amps you should not get any gaps at all from my experience so far.

Indeed, a scene change that turn on/off amps should not cause any gap.

But some amps have parameters that cause a brief pause (for example, the ‘Victor Squid CH1’ has a ‘tube’ switch that allows to select ‘EL34’ or ‘6L6’).
Usually those switches have a small ‘i’ near them indicating that they cause a brief pause in the sound.

If you don’t pay attention to those parameters, it could cause what you described when you activate a scene.

Consider this scenario:

  • In Scene ‘A’ , you have a Victor Squid CH1 amp that is ‘turned off’ , and have the ‘Tube’ switch set to ‘EL34’.
  • In Scene ‘B’, you ‘turn on’ the Victor Squid CH1’ , but at the same time you set the ‘Tube’ switch to ‘6L6’ → it will cause a brief mute.

If in both scene ‘A’ and ‘B’ the ‘Tube’ parameter is set to ‘6L6’ , there’s no brief mute…

The tube switch is left untouched so that shouldn’t be the issue…
I’m getting the same behavior both in scene and stomp mode.

I would try to check it out but the link is broken

I just checked and it is indeed working:

You sure it’s set to public? I keep getting 404 “page missing errors”

+1
i’m getting an error too

It’s not shared publicly. I also get 404 page missing?

Sorry guys, my fault, here it is > Neural DSP Technologies - Algorithmically Perfect

thank you all in advance!

I tried your preset, but, to me, there’s no lag when I change from one scene to another… I can feel a very short volume drop between some scene changes, but not a ‘Lag’ per se…

In Stomp Mode , I can see & hear a slight delay in the turning on/off of the multiples blocks , but that’s it…
