I am curious to know if it is possible to use the QC in the following way.
I have want to use the QC in scenes mode but have a Morningstar MC6 Pro set to control the bypass state of effects blocks within the preset.
I am away from my QC for another few weeks so I’m trying to do as much research as I can before then to know if I’m wasting my time or not.
Chat GPT seems to think you can, but it also has some conflicting information so I thought I would see if anyone can confirm this.
according to chat GPT you can assign CC’s to the effects blocks in the QC and send those CC’s from the MC6 Pro. As the QC has its own midi implementation chart, there are certain CC’s that can be used, but I’m unsure if this works or not.
Any advice or experience on this would be appreciated
I did see multiple requests for very similar functionality requests after id posted this.
A work around I saw to use the external midi controller to have a button that selects stomp box mode and another that selects scenes mode. That way I have quick access to 8 buttons of each.
I know I could do this on the qc, but I’d rather press a single button instead of 2 buttons for ease of use and open myself up to being able to use the external controller to control other qc controls if needed

You can control stomp assignments from A-H with MIDI cc even if you are in scene mode.
CC#35–42: These control the eight stomp footswitches (A–H).
Send any value 0–127 on one of these CCs to toggle the assigned footswitch.
For example:
CC#35 → controls Footswitch A
CC#36 → controls Footswitch B
…
CC#42 → controls Footswitch H
Scenes are controlled with CC#43 → CC#50 = Scene A through Scene H
The thing I wish it did was show the state of hidden stomps on the gig view because midi controllers like the chocolate don’t have state LEDs and if you’re in scene mode on the QC, nothing tells you if the MIDI did anything.
I was wrong above. I thought I had this working but really the CC commands for footswitches only control what you see on the screen. If you have scene mode and send CC#35, it’ll trigger scene A. If you are in stomp, whatever stomp is in A.
This sucks because there is a CC command to toggle scenes directly but not stomps. You could put it in stomp mode and control scenes with external midi, but not the other way around.
