New to the QC family (not sure how many more times I’m going to say this to cover up the silly questions that I have XD)
So, I’ve noticed that the tuner for the Quad Cortex takes long to turn on. To be honest, even though its a few seconds during live shows that’s time I wouldn’t want to waste in waiting.
Quick Questions:
Wanted to check if there is a way to reduce the time taken by the QC tuner to turn on?
Is the Tuner/tempo switch reprogrammable to only be assigned to the tuner or tamp tempo?
Has anyone tried connecting an external tuner to the QC? I’m planning on getting the Polytune 3 but not sure how much it would effect the overall tone of the guitar
For those using an external tuner do you connect it before the input on the QC or after?
There’s an option in the ‘Settings’ screen that allow you to invert the ‘Tempo’ vs ‘Tuner’ button behaviour (ie: when inverted, you quickly press twice the ‘tempo’ button to access the Tuner , and you ‘long press’ to access the Tempo screen)
Polytune 3 has two modes: buffered and true bypass.
In buffered mode it could affect such things as fuzz pedals and maybe even improve your signal when using passive pickups and long cables.
In true bypass, it should have no effect on your signal but you also can’t use “always on” mode.
So if you don’t mind pushing the button to activate the tuner, you should definitely be fine.
Before the QC so the tuning isn’t influenced by effects.
I’ve been complaining about this since launch lol. Give me a one-tap tuner! Until recently, I’ve been using the Shure wireless pedal system so I always used that to tune the guitar. It’s off the board now so going back to the slow-ass tuner on the QC.
