Hey,
I know there’s plenty topics about power supplies already on here, but I didn’t find my answer I’m afraid.
I’m using a Fender Engine Room LVL12 power supply to power all my pedals (not the QC).
This power supply is fed by an IEC power cord.
Now I’d like to have a power supply for my Quad Cortex that’s also IEC powered. That way I can use a single power lead (with a Y IEC connector at the end) to power both power supplies which can be neatly tucked underneath my pedal board.
So the new IEC power supply also needs to be square/rectangular in shape - as they usually are.
Next to that it needs to be available at Thomann (by preference) and should deliver 12V 3A (minimum). I’d rather stay away from 2A devices.
Who can point me in the right direction?
Thanks!!
Thomann
You don’t have to look exclusively at music gear sites to find a power supply.
Here’s 12VDC 5A power supply with a 2.1mm plug.:

That power supply is center-pin-positive, so you would need a reverse polarity adapter for going into your QC:
If you’re asking for stuff from Thomann then I’m assuming you’re in the UK/Europe. I can’t guarantee that these items would be available over there but at least this should give you an idea of what to look for.
This is how I power my QC and it has worked perfectly since day one. I use a Y-splitter underneath my Templeboard for two IEC cables, one to this power supply and the other to my VoodooLab Pedal Power Plus 3 (for my external pedals).

You can find what you’re looking for on Amazon (but also get the polarity reversal adapter posted above). That’s what I use so I don’t have a wall wart. It’s been very reliable. I actually bought three of them; one for the studio, one for the rehearsal space, and one for my gig bag. I would suggest folding/wrapping/taping the polarity adapter to the other cable, though, since it can come loose and then you don’t notice and then accidentally plug the wrong polarity into the QC…
