H9 sounds horrible in the loop. Tips?

Anyone here with a great setup for having an Eventide H9 in the fx loop of the QC? Sounds like shit now, while it sounds fantastic having it after the QC.

The effects loop on QC is too hot.

Turn down the send -4.5dB and the return -0.1dB for unity gain

Thanks. Tried it but it still feels weird.

Sounds much better putting it after the quad.

Any other suggestions?

Try putting just 1 patch cable in the loop and then mess with the input and output until it sounds neutral with the loop ok or off, then try plugging in the H9.

I use the qc w/ h90 (in kill dry, mostly) using fx loop 1/2, stereo, (w/ 2 in 2 out) via ts ebs patch cables with fantastic results. Its almost always in parallel. Fx loop is set similar to what Kfletcher mentioned.

couple questions… guitar or bass? Mono or stereo? kill dry? Cables ts or trs? Series or parallel?

Got a great result by taking the send level down to -12db and the return 7db.

I will try the killdry. Thanks!

Nice. Glad you found a solution!
