Hey everyone — not sure if this is just me, but this felt kind of dangerous so I wanted to share.
I was using a Nano Cortex (OS 2.1.0), and had my expression pedal mapped to a Volume block in Pre FX2. Later on, I decided I didn’t need the volume control anymore, so I removed the Volume block and replaced it with a Graphic-9 EQinstead.
Everything was fine… until suddenly, while playing, I accidentally nudged the expression pedal — and boom ![]()
Massive volume spike. The meters in Logic shot up into hard clipping, easily +20dB. It scared the hell out of me and almost blew my monitors.
Turns out, even though the Volume block was gone, the expression assignment didn’t reset. It was still mapped to Pre FX2 and now seemed to control the EQ’s output or something else — even without showing any active link.
Not sure if this is expected behavior or a bug, but it’s definitely not intuitive. I feel like replacing a block should at least reset or warn about old expression mappings. Otherwise, you end up with this ghost connection that can ruin your day — or your gear.
Has anyone else run into this?
