I use control pretty frequently but after the update it tells me I need to plug in a device. any one else see this?

Yes. Out of curiosity what do the USB diagnostics say? On mine, the USBConnected value is switching off and on repeatedly.
Cortez control quit mid session last night and so I updated everything but no luck.
Did you update the driver (if using PC) and the cortex control app to the newest version?
