I’m building a fly rig with a quad cortex and a shure PSM 900 IEM system. My plan is to use a cioks with crux to power the QC and a Cioks 4 or 8 extension power supply. I’m trying to eliminate the use of the bulky power supply the shure P9T transmitter comes with. According to the rear of the transmitter, it says 15 V at 550 mA center positive. The cables that I did find are center negative. Is there a cable that will solve this problem?.. The extra output on the DC7 that is left over after powering the QC is only 15V@ 500 mA
You would need the polarity converter attachment from Cioks. Also flip the switches on the power supply to be set for 15v. Exact cable depends on how big the barrel connector is for your Shure transmitter though
I’m not sure what the power connections for the transmitter have to do with the wireless body pack?.
Not sure what you’re asking for here now…..haha. Just providing some info for the power specs you mentioned. What is it that you’re trying to do? Seemed from the first post you needed to power a transmitter with the Cioks…..
I stand corrected. I reread your post. According to the website the connection is a
5.5mm x 2.1mm Barrel center positive, which is my issue, trying to find the correct cable that is compatible with this transmitter. Everything that I’m finding that is a current doubler it’s a center negative connection, I need center positive, current doubler to power this transmitter.
Use a Temple Audio Solo 18 board, with their proprietary CIOKS Mi5, along with a Crux. You could probably mount the IEM transmitter under the board, if so then you could mount and expression pedal on top, next to the QC.
For power, the Crux powers the QC, freeing up all the ports on the Mi5 for powering the IEM setup and a powered expression pedal, like the Lehle, as an example.
Here’s a couple of shots of my board, prior to moving in a battery powered direction.
As you can see, with some cable clean up you could fit something pretty sizeable under there.
