I just bought a QC. Selling off most of my pedals as the QC pretty much will replace everything. Still want to build the QC into a board with a few of my favorite pedals I want to keep. Question is are there anyone using the CIOKS CIOKOLATE 16 to power their QC? It has many different outputs so one of them has to be able to power the QC.
I don’t use the CIOKOLATE, but I recently was in the same position when choosing a power supply for my setup.
The CIOKOLATE doesn’t have a single output that can power the QC. You need at least 2 A / 2000 mA and the highest single output is 600 mA.
So you’d need to combine multiple outputs with a parallel adapter to reach the required current.
That’s the same thing you would to do with a CIOKS DC7, which is about 100€/$ cheaper. So depending how many other pedals you have and how much current they need, this could be the better option.
Hmmm so I wonder if I can just add the Cioks Crux just like you would with the DC7?
Don’t think so. As far as I can see, the CIOKOLATE doesn’t have the 24V DC output for extensions.
Also you don’t really need the crux with the DC7 unless you have a lot of other/demanding pedals.
You use 4 outputs with 3 parallel adapters to power the QC and still have 3 outputs left.
Depending on the current needed by your other pedals, you can easily power 1-2 bigger or more than 3 small pedals.
Well then my Ciokalate may be up for sale then!
Surely you could do the same with yours - hook it up to a load of the 12V DC outputs, until you get the required 2A…?
