The absence of any Sweetwater videos about this is interesting, given they’ve posted quite a lot of videos about other things at NAMM.
No idea yet, we will have to wait until it’s released and or more details are provided.
The few photos and video that have popped up do look promising, though. I feel confident that Cortex Control is going to be a great tool.
honestly as a base it doesn´t have to be anything but the interface in the QC that you can control with a mouse, it´s annoying having to hunch everytime there is an adjustment to be made. But hopefully with the time it´s taken them they have something more prepared so we can configure full sets - many presets in a faster way or something but honestly just with the ability to edit in pc instead of kneeling down to the qc would fulfill what they promised
It’s beta software and even a casual read through these threads, it’s abundantly clear that users will roast you for building marketing hype or overselling. Like it or not, we can’t have it both ways. We either allow them to market future releases or we don’t.
I’m guessing they likely took the quieter path and showed it as a beta for user input to take back to the Dev team. It’s how I would manage it if it were my team.
When the product nears release I expect we will see all sorts of hype and marketing push. It’s a major upgrade!
Most companies don’t want formal reviews on record of beta software. Too many risks for the small reward offered. The software may crash and the features that make it into the final release may change. This was a business decision I bet, and a smart one if you ask me.
everything you say makes sense, that´s probably it, which i agree is smart if they don´t have it ready.
it´s weird that not even common folk have uploaded something or even given their thoughts so maybe they had an NDA in the booth? lol
either way i guess if they are keeping it on the down low they are taking it back to improve it so we still won´t see it in the immediate future
Even though it’s beta and doesn’t work perfectly yet, I’m still surprised that apart from the shaky video on YouTube, there’s no info on the net about Cortex Control. Every piece of nonsense has been published in some blog, short or influencer fart. But nothing from NDSP. What amazes me is that not even the big name YouTubers out there, who are responsible for many of us buying the Lamborghini of effect units, post at least a screen shot of the interface. Rabea was at your booth, he usually posts a lot of cool stuff, why not the Cortex Control? Until the announcement of the update 2.1.0 and a beta at NAMM, I was 90% sure that I will sell the QC. 2K was simply just too much for it, and I was blinded by the big hype. Unfortunately, prices have dropped dramatically on the secondhand market, and I would simply be making too much of a loss right now.
@pewepete Feel you brother. Mostly bought into the QC sound - as I’m sure you did too - but also some of the hype. That side of it showed to be just me buying into the drama, and what we buy into then takes over and we live it. Let that side go and try to enjoy what you’ve got.

Same. You’d think they would have made their own video at NAMM. I reckon it’s far from ready, that’s the reason why. I agree with @BrianVallotton above that it’s really difficult to understand how they do business, marketing, etc. I bet they’ll drop another plugin before the desktop editor is available too which will be the icing on the cake.
Funny, we buy into the hype, when it shows to be too much promises we just want more of it. ![]()

Remember, the development teams for both plug-ins and QC are unique to each and both are always working on parallel paths for updates and new features etc. They might release two plugins prior to the next update, that has nothing to do with QC development.
I have to admit I have similar feelings. I am sure that the Neural team is doing all they can right now. I too was disappointed that it was a NON event for Neural. What I do believe is that they have set a course for how they are going to move forward and that plan is very likely a good one.
It is like a foot race… sometimes the other modelers may be a few steps ahead but they appear to be keeping their pace and not losing sight of their goals. In the long run I believe we will be happy to have kept the units. I do wish they would share more with us, but at this point they probably don’t have much to say. That does not have to be a bad thing, it is just their approach.
Really not that much has changed. ToneX has a good modeler out. It does not do what the QC does. The NAM program is over my head and I don’t even have amps and pedals to capture. I use my unit as an all in one. At the end of the day the QC is still a great unit. I do believe it will only get better. Just wanted to take the time to let you know you are not alone in your feelings and that I too feel the impact of such a large purchase. I think it is still worth it. God bless!
Ideally it would be nice to have two “modes”: a simple one that recreates the QC touch screen UI, and another that is more like their plugins with the fancy graphics. They did mention in one of the dev updates that they were working on making the best most beautiful desktop editor out there.
cool, comments say it will be available in not too distant future, hopefully their concept of not too distant is the same as mine
Looks like we will be able to change names and colors for stomps, hopefully also scenes.
Quite helpful for playing live.
Nice.
EDIT: Actually it was scene mode coloring visible in the video, not stomp mode coloring
Hey guys!
I played with the PC editor at the NAMM, I only can say that is extremely intuitive and does de editing and block process even easier. I really love it!
In IG Comments their replying with “S O O N”
Well i hope it is the same “S O O N” as they post on their plugin releases
Hi @sergiosg and Welcome.
Nice to hear that
. In case it’s more intuitive than the QC itself it must be quite good
.
