4 Cable Effects Loop

I’ve been noodling with 4 cable recently and I just can’t figure out the sweet spot for the send/return levels. I feel like the defaults are driving the amp too hard, so I of course started noodling knobs and just came away feeling like the real sound of my amp is just lost.

Any suggestions on what you all target send/return levels?

I don’t touch the send side but I have found the return on the QC needs +5dB to keep your output level unchanged at the end of the signal.
