How do you guys set your FX loop levels when using 4CM?
The return needs to be increased by about 4-5dB for unity volume.
Just bought the sc20h and i’m trying the 4CM!
To be honest, I don’t understand anything about impedance or other technical terms. So, the SEND not clipping is okay?
And another question. For the return, for it to receive an “apparently correct level,” I have to set the master volume of the JCM to 8 It doesn’t seem right to me to do that.
If I leave it at 2 (as I normally use at home when plugged straight in) the green meter doesn’t even appear because the output reaching the quad’s return is so low. (I can get the the green meter to show if I boost the level on the return I/O ) (which doesn’t seem right too)}
As a consequence, OUT 3 of the quad also ends up with a very low output (however, the volume remains the same as it was plugged directly from guitar to Front of amp). (Master Knob Volume of the quad on full all the time)
Thus, when I’m using a preamp from the quad, I need to set the output knob within the preamp block very low to match the JCM’s 2 master volume
Just adding: with the JCM’s master volume set to 8, i have to use the Master Knob on the quad to “attenuate” it cause it’s so damn loud
And the preamp blocks i can leave the output 0 and just small tweaks to match the volume of the JCM (using the wheel to attenuate it too)
I don’t know if there’s a rule
But what seems right to me is the quad with the master volume wheel at max outputting the same volume as guitar → JCM
But in that way I cant get the green meter to show on the return input in that way.
