XLR to FOH & 1/4in to amp (no IR)?

Please explain it to me like I’m a total beginner… Or send me to a previously posted thread (I searched, didn’t find anything… But, I can’t be the first to ask this).

I want to run my QC, like I’ve used it for the last year, with the XLR to the FOH.

But, I want to be able to run a 1/4in to the FX loop return of my tube amp without the Cab/IR block on that output.

How do I do this?

I should probably just copy my main presets to a new bank so I don’t affect those for when I don’t need to use an external power amp.

First question: are you trying to run stereo (I mean stereo to FOH and also stereo to power amp(s)) or nah?

Your cabsim needs to be last in the chain. Then put the effects send block right before it to create a “branch out” of the signal before it hits the cabsim

Here’s an example of the presets I typically build. I run everything in mono.

I load up amp blocks, overdrive, noise gate on Row 1. Then I send it to Row 3.

On Row 3, I usually have a couple more modulation, delay, and/or reverb blocks, along with an FX Loop (I use external pedals).

After that, I split the signal. Row 3 goes to Output 3 for my power amp + cab. Row 4 has an IR block with some additional EQ and light “glue” compression at the end, to Output 1 & 2 (like I said, I run my signal in mono; so I get two copies of the same output signal), out to FOH.

You can use an FX Send to go to your amplifier, but you don’t have to.
