Is it feasible to place a cab block at the very end of a signal chain?
Use case is I want to run my quad cortex to FOH with an IR, but also to an on stage cab without the need for cabinet simulation
Could I place the IR block right at the end of the chain (after delays, reverbs etc) and then split off just before to the separate outputs? I don’t really want to have to run all of the amp sim/post effects twice on two separate chains as that seems like a waste of processing power and unnecessary faff
It’s fine. Real amp users have FXs in a loop before the cab/mic and it’s been fine.
More useful would be if QC could allow you to have the chain however you want and send to say Outputs 1 and 2 and have a global feature to disable all cab blocks from output 2…
If you have a free FX Loop, use a Send block just before the cab to send to your onstage amp, and use the main outputs for FOH. I’ve run mine like that since I got it.
I would love them to add outputs 3/4 as options in the send blocks, but I don’t use the FX loops anyway.
