White noise when connected to PC

Hello, I was considering switching to using Cortex Control full time now that it is out of beta, however whenever I connect my QC to my PC through USB I am getting white noise and a light crackling sound. The moment I input the USB into the QC it starts occuring, and it goes away when disconnecting it. I am using a pair of studio monitors.

I have tried the following:
Turning off cortex control
turning off the output devices of the QC from the computer
Setting the volume to 0
Putting the QC in standby
Turning off the QC completely. Even with it turned off, if I plug the USB cable there is a considerable white noise coming out of my monitors

Has anyone encountered this before?

Nope. works perfect every time for me. 3 month user.
What did support say? They are responsive.

I managed to solve it. It seems that my extension lead was noisy. I used another lead and only connected the monitors to it (that fixed the crackling sound), then lowered the volume from the monitors (removing the white noise).

Great. I know things like this are so frustrating.
