The Mesa Lonestar (CA 1Star) is capable of some sweet EOB tones, too. Choosing the right cab is important. Using a high-cut (low-pass) filter to trim the fizz and crackle can help. I like to add a little post-cab compression, using one of the studio comps, to help control the harsher harmonics of the attack. This is probably less helpful if you’re picking lightly, more helpful if you’re going full caveman on those strings.
