Was really happy now I'm upset!

The update was fine and I was loving it but the next day my unit wouldn’t boot up. I powered it down and back on and it was good. Tonight it wouldnt boot up until the fourth try. I tried doing a backup and now it’s stuck and won’t budge. I finally had made a commitment to this thing from my Fractal gear which never once had an issue in twelve years of using their products. Now I don’t know what to do. Its a fairly new unit that I got from Sweetwater. Maybe they will replace it. This is such a bad deal. I bought all this stuff and racked it and my guitar tech was just getting the hang of running it for me. I don’t want to rebuild my Fractal rig, its all been disassembled.

Have you tried this recovery procedure:

Failed update recovery:

  • Turn off the unit

  • Disconnect all the cables

  • Wait 30 seconds, connect only the PSU cable, and turn it on again

  • On the loading/splash screen, press and hold the “A” and “H” stomps

  • Select “Reset To Factory Default”

  • Check if the problem persists

It won’t even go to the splash screen.

Raise as big a fuss as you can with Sweetwater, with gigs coming up they should send a replacement unit before you send yours back.
They did that for me, but it’s been a few years.
Sorry that’s happening to you!

Yeah, they have a two year warranty on stuff so they should send you a replacement. They might try to make you send it in to get looked at, but goddamn this is def an issue with a bunch of QC’s it seems. Had this happen with my first one and they sent a replacement.

Ok, after a night of blinking blue lights and no screen ever coming on, it finally came on enough for me to do the A&H reboot. I reloaded my backup and so far so good. Sorry for the panic but now I’m nervous about trusting it for my upcoming gig. I do have a black and gold Quad that I could use but I like keeping it in the studio and am not wanting to take it gigging.

You just got it from Sweetwater? You have 30 days. Call Monday morning and tell them they owe you another or your money back if you don’t want to stick with it.

I turned my QC on today and it’s just blinking again! It was fine before the update. Does anyone know if it’s related to the update or just bad timing?

I’m not a tech engineer but I’d call Sweetwater. Don’t wait on it. If it happens again and it’s still 30 days call them again but if it’s after 30 days then email support@neuraldsp.com

They are sending me a new one. I just told them about it and that I had a gig and needed it now. They asked if I used the original power supply and I told them yes but, I’ve used a Cioks with a Crux sometimes, could that matter? They sell them with the Quad at Sweetwater.

I’ve been using the adapter that comes with it and no issues. I don’t know for sure but if you’re using a pedalboard I’d definitely get the better cioks. But I don’t think that’s it.

it wouldn’t have damaged the unit, it’s just possible to underpower it accidentally and that could account for it not performing correctly sometimes.

Sweetwater rules! They sent me a replacement overnight! Idk whats up but this new unit sounds better then the one I sent back. Maybe whatever the issue was, it messed with the sound.

I always take a second unit to gigs. It’s in a little waterproof case.

Possibly the SD card needs to be reseated.
