Using the HX Stomp XL in the Quad Cortex FX loop- Horrendous feedback

Hi all,

So I’m wiring up my Quad to use it with the four cable method if i ever decide to try that.

But I also use a HX stomp XL for additional effects.

Signal path;

Quad Cortex Send 2 —–> HX stomp Return L/Mono

Quad Cortex Return 2 ——> HX Stomp Stereo Send

If i try to select send and return 2 individually and use them as an effects loop; No sound at all.

If I select “send 1” and don’t have a return: I have sound

If I select FX Loop 1 or FX loop 2; Devastating unstoppable feedback and nothing else.

I’m at a complete loss because I feel like it should work.

Help Plz

So I made it work by going into the input and output of the Helix instead of the send and return, treating it like an external effects pedal.

Which probably seems obvious but when you’re stressed out and under time pressure the brain certainly stops braining, doesn’t it?

I’m not sure what the issue was but, glad you resolved it. I’m curious, which effects in the HX do you plan to use?

Basically anything I don’t have space for in my QC presets, or weird effects the QC doesn’t have like glitch effects and the big weird reverbs and delays!
